'Tail Sanders' car. Hurry. And don't forget your camera,' Sanchez concluded as Clark hastily jumped into the police car and revved up the engine. Sanders had gotten way ahead. Clark sped up as much as he could, almost forgetting that he was a policeman himself. Finally, he was at a safe distance from his target: he could see them clearly without getting noticed himself.
If was still afternoon. After a few minutes of driving, the reached a familiar spot--Sanders' apartment building. Quite understandable. Sanders got out of the car and started walking towards the building. Clark waited for Sanders' friend to drive off, but he didn't. He just parked the car in an empty parking slot. Probably, Sanders was supposed to come out again.
Clark didn't feel like intruding Sanders' and his mother's privacy during their little reunion after he got released. But he had to do his job. So he placed himself in a secluded spot from where he could spy unnoticed and positioned his camera. After a few minutes, he saw Sanders and his mother through the window. Nope, no sign of thank Gods, tears and I love yous. It was all straight faces and emotionless conversations.
Suddenly, he saw Sanders pull out a very thick wad of currency notes and hand it to his mother. Clark's eyes went wide. Oh. My. God. His camera went Click, Click, Click. Then he saw them shake hands. Whoever shakes hands with his mommy? Weird.
Sanders' mom exited the window frame and after a while, Sanders saw her exit the freaking building. He clicked pictures, even though he didn't get what was happening.
And, after a minute or two, Sanders exited the building too. He got into the car, and Clark got into his own. He again started to follow him. His senses were fully awake now.
Sanders' car made a full U-turn, and so did Clark's. After some time, Clark started to anticipate where they were going. But there was no way they could be headed there.
After a series of lefts and rights, he had a sense of déjà vu as he once again parked in front of Morris and Sons Antiques.
What the heck is happening today?
