He was dead before the gunshot reached my ears. It was a violence to the still of the November midnight - a noise that heralded death and destruction. Right before my eyes my stepfather lies lifelessly, more gun shots ranged on my ears as I dashed upstairs and burst in my room and hid beneath the bed trembling with fear.
before i could feel hot tears trickling down my face I heard the same creepy laugh that send the chills down my spine and footsteps approaching my room and I held my mouth tightly to avoid the involuntary muffle, I sank deeper under my bed hiding beneath the sheets of darkness.
'.'لا يوجد أحد هنا boss (there's none here) someone said in a deep disturbing voice. They left the house quickly when the gang men heard police sirens wailing nearby.I stayed under the bed shivering and sobbing until I heard the footsteps near my bed and closed my eyes "ash is that you?" A similar voice said. "Its me..nur" she called out as she ducked and asked for my hand. Her raven hair up in a messy bun. Her brown velvety iris gazing deep in dark stromy ones.
"Wha..what are you doing her nur? Go away you will hurt yourself
اخرج. (Get out ) ."" no I won't leave you come out now take my hand" she insisted.
I hesitated at first but then took her small hand. Her hand felt perfect and warm as if consoling my loss. "Feeling better" she asked when i stood up I nodded. She took out her lemony yellow handkerchief from her pocket and handed it to me.
"don't worry your angel is here Now no one will hurt you anymore " she whispered.

Later In the evening"So you guys heard gunshots in your neighbors house and saw two dead bodies of the prominent businessman and found a 14 year old boy alive" the fat policeman inquired.
"Yes and his full name is Asher Al-ahdal" nur's father Mr.anwar said.
I was sitting on a bench outside the investigation office and could here the conversation taking place inside. Nur was sitting right beside me and held my hand tightly a she slept soundlessly against my shoulder. The clock on the low ceiling wall read 2am. I yawned and felt droopy but was in too shock to sleep.
" as far is the investigations done there is no relatives expect his grandfather of his biological father is likely to adopt the young boy" the policemen went on holding a blue file in his left hand.
" okay so the grandfather name's Ehmad Zemeem..he is 50 years old and is divorced and he runs his own grand business so according to our research about him he's a reliable man and I hope that asher himself would love to stay with him. mr. ehmad hometown's in other part of the city Doha"
Mr.anwar seemed relieved and nodded In agreement.
My grandfather I thought alarmed. But isn't he dead for like 5 years now? I wondered in confusion. Than a black roll Royce came into view outside the police station.soon a strikingly handsome man with silvery mustache and beard came into view i gaped thinking is that my grandfather? he came to me a gave me a warm smile and went inside the inquiring office. after an hour or so both my grandfather and nurs father came outside along with the fat policemen.
"okay asher now mr. ehmad is legally your guardian we will drop you at your house can pack your stuff and move in with him" the fat policemen said.
mr. anwar kneel before me and gave me a last big hug " i know asher this must be so hard for you but someday you have to move on the day i lost nurs mother was the hardest and most difficult for us have paitence..and if theres anything we can help you with please reach out for me".
i mumbled thank you and stood up. nur was now awake. " ash..ash are you going somewhere?" i looked away not wanting to see her pain. " please dont go ash i will miss you ash you promised you would never go away..who will tell my stories and buy me icecream now...who will walk down the beach with me now" her voice started to broke.
my tears now freely flowed. " dont worry nur i will come back for you when im strong and big" i kissed her forehead and went away with ehmad.
"no ash ash" i could hear her wailing in a distance now. my celestial nur now shes gone too.
