Chapter Fifteen: Crazy Girls|✔

"Baby, are we over now?

Maybe I can change your mind

As soon as you walk out my door

I'm gonna call a hundred times"

(One of Those) Crazy Girls // Paramore

Classes were boring to say the least, and that is when the idea of a quick trip to the baby store popped into my head. I have never really went to one just to buy anything so I want to go to the one in my favorite mall not too far away. As I made my way to the campus courtyard, I spotted Weston, and an impromptu invitation slipped from my lips.

"Hey, Weston, want to go to the baby store with me after classes?" I asked, a casual smile on my face.

Weston's eyes lit up with curiosity. "The baby store? Why?"

"Ansel's having twins, and I thought it would be cool to pick up some stuff for them. You know, help him out a bit."

"What? Do your parents know?" She questions and then it hits me I was probably supposed to keep this between my siblings and I, "I take it they don't from the look on your face." I do a nod, this is why I am not trusted with secrets, "That sounds sweet of you. I'm up for it."

We decided to grab a quick bite to eat before heading to the baby store. The anticipation of choosing tiny outfits and adorable baby essentials added an unexpected excitement to our day.The baby store, nestled in a quaint corner in the mall's first floor, welcomed us with a display of colorful onesies and plush toys. As we stepped inside, the soft chime of a bell announced our arrival. The air was scented with a mix of baby powder and the subtle aroma of freshly washed blankets.

Rows of shelves adorned with an array of baby items stretched out before us. Soft blankets in pastel hues, tiny shoes that could fit in the palm of my hand, and miniature onesies with charming animal prints beckoned us further into the store. The walls were adorned with whimsical paintings of storks delivering bundles of joy, adding a touch of nostalgia to the atmosphere.

We strolled through the aisles, each section revealing a new treasure trove of baby essentials. Weston's eyes sparkled with delight as she examined tiny mittens and delicate mobiles. The charm of the baby store wasn't lost on me either, and I found myself drawn to the miniature cribs and the soothing lullabies that played softly in the background.

As we reached the section of adorable baby clothes, Weston's enthusiasm reached a new peak. She delicately plucked a tiny onesie from the rack, the fabric adorned with a playful pattern of smiling elephants. Holding it up, she grinned at me, her eyes alight with joy. "Isn't this the cutest thing you've ever seen?" Weston exclaimed, her voice a mixture of excitement and tenderness.

I couldn't help but smile at her infectious enthusiasm. "Absolutely adorable. They are going to be the best-dressed babies in town," I replied, my gaze lingering on the miniature outfit.

Weston's fingers traced over the fabric lovingly as if she could already feel the softness against a baby's delicate skin. "And just imagine the little giggles when they wear this," she added, a vision of the future twinkling in her eyes. She held onto the outfit as we continued on.

Our laughter filled the space as we selected tiny outfits, soft blankets, and a mobile adorned with dreamy stars for Ansel's twins. The act of choosing items for the unborn babies felt like a celebration of life and family.
