Shay tried on about 10 different outfits before finding the perfect one for the night that she declared she was going to forget all about Matt Perkins. In the end she chose to wear a tight black dress that was in my opinion a bit short, paired with some stiletoes. Her long blonde hair fell to her waist in soft curls and she had put on fake eyelashes for extra effect. I on the otherhand had chosen to wear a cobalt blue tight fitting dress with my black wedges and my short brown hair curled. We decided to arrive at the party half an hour after it started because according to Shay that's what cool people do.
When we arrived the party was in full swing. Walking up the driveway to Sasha's house we could see different coloured lights filling every room of the house and the music was so loud it was vibrating through my chest, and we weren't even inside yet! Walking through the door we could see that the house was packed and this meant that the air was thick with sweat and alcohol. Immediately Shay pulled me over to where Sasha had all the alcoholic beverages you could ever dream of. Obviously her family is rich so they can afford to provide everyone with alcohol and even though we are underage apparently her parents don't mind. Mine would kill me if they even knew I had a sip. Shay passed me a ruski which I had had before so I wasn't to hesitant to have a couple. Shay quickly skulled half the bottle then made her way over to where some guys who were on the football team were doing some shots. They all lined up and one by one did a shot. I watched silently as I sipped my ruski, lightly bopping to the rhythmn of the deafening music. Although the whole time I was looking for one person. Matt. I turned away from the shots table to get a full scan of the room. Maybe he wasn't here yet? He was pretty popular so maybe he decided to wait till the party would be at it's prime time. Although he didn't seem like a guy that would care about all that stuff. I turned back to where Shay was doing shots only to see her having her face practically eaten by the quaterback Josh Carter. I knew this was going to happen. So and then there was just me, all by myself. As Shay broke away from the kiss they did a few more shots before Josh grabbed her hand and they started to make their way upstairs.
We have only been at this party for half an hour and she is already wasted and probably going upstairs to have sex with Josh Carter who will probably spread what Shay is like in bed around the whole entire school. Come on Tayla, you can't let that happen to your best friend! I said to myself.
I ran after Josh and Shay and grabbed onto Shay's free hand, "Shay, what are you guys doing?" I asked hurridly, i just wanted to get her out of this.
"Let go, we are just going to have a look at Sasha's room okay," She tried to free her hand but I clung tighter.
"Shay, don't do this please. You're drunk you aren't thinking straight," I pleaded with her.
"Tayla, let go. I don't want your help, just piss off would you," She slurred. And even though I knew she was drunk and didn't know what she was saying her words still stung.
I reluctantly let go of her hand and Josh pulled her into Sasha's room and shut the door. I started to make my way down the stairs. I didn't want to leave without Shay so I may as well try and find someone to talk to. Suddenly I felt my foot slip off the edge of the next stair and before I knew it I was falling. I waited for the impact and for the people who would laugh at me and maybe the one person who might help me up but the ground never came. I opened my eyes to see a pair of piercing blue ones staring back. Matt.
"Have a nice trip?" He chuckled.
"Ha Ha very funny," I laughed as he helped me up. I wavered a bit when I was finally back on my feet because these wedges were so god damn high, "Thanks for that,"
"Anytime. Hey for once you were the one that needed help," He winked at me playfully while lightly nudging my arm.
"Yeah I guess sometimes I do need someone to catch me," I laughed nervously avoiding eye contact.
"I thought you were here with Shay," His eyebrows furrowed in confusion. God he looked cute when he did that.
"Um, yeah I was but she's um, just busy right now," I stammered trying to find a way to put what was going on upstairs without actually telling him that right now she is having sex with the most popular guy in school and also the biggest douche bag in school.
"Oh I see, where's the bathroom?" Matt asked trying to change the subject.
"I'll show you its just up the stairs," I lead him upstairs and was walking past Sasha's room when I heard it open. I turned around to see Matt opening the door, "No Matt don't!" I yelled. But it was too late.
Matt stood there looking white as a ghost. I ran up to him to get him out of there and shut the door. I didn't look in the room but couldnt help but see the forms of Shay and Josh going at it on Sasha's bed. I was disgusted, how could Shay do this? Matt was a nice guy, a great guy and he hadn't done anything wrong. They had only been broken up a day and she as aready having sex with a guy that she had literally never spoken to before. I lead Matt down the hallway and pointed to the door that was the actual bathroom, "That's the bathroom. You okay?" I looked at him worriedly. He didn't reply and before I knew it his lips were crashing into mine. His warm safe hands were wrapped around my waist pulling me closer to him. I lifted my hands and entangled them in his soft blonde hair. He deepened the kiss and reached for the doorknob pulling me into the bathroom. He leaned me up against the sink and I wrapped my legs around his waist pulling him closer. I had never wanted anything so much in my life as much as I wanted Matt right now. I just wanted to be close to him, to feel him. His lips left mine and he burried his head into my neck, leaving a trail of soft kisses from the nape of my neck all the way down to the top of my breast. Slowly and reluctantly I pulled his hair making him come back to face me. "What's wrong?" He asked as a confused look swept across his gorgeous features.
"Nothing, it's just we shouldn't be doing this. I'm Shay's best friend!" I untangled my legs from his waist and stood back on solid ground. I felt cold without his body pressed against mine.
"Tayla, nothing we are doing is wrong. Shay and I broke up remember? She doesn't control what we do," He stroked me cheek soflty and I leaned into his touch.
"Are you just doing this because of what you just saw? Would you still have kissed me if you hadn't just seen Josh and Shay?" I accused. I don't know why I hadn't thought of it that way before.
"No of course not!" He was starting to grow angry, "Why would you think I would do that?"
"I don't know, I just don't see why you would like me?" I replied quietly.
"Want to know a secret Tayla," His voice softened and his hand returned to my face, tilting my chin so my eyes would meet his, "I've liked you long before I broke up with Shay. Infact, I've liked you since the first day I saw you in Primary School,"
"Then why didn't you ever ask me out?" I spoke softly, almost whispering as if there were other people in the room that could hear our private little secret.
"I never thought you were interested in me like that. You hide your feelings whereas Shay, hers were always layed right out on the table. But it's always been you Tayla. Always," He lifted my lips up to meet his again and I had no hesitation. I melted into his kiss, savouring every sweet second of it. I was so in the moment that I didn't realise that someone had opened the door.
"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE!" My heart dropped and our lips parted. Shay stood there seething with drunken rage. Her dress hiked up so you could almost see her underwear and her hair was a tangled mess. She strode into the bathroom and stopped right in front of me, so close I could smell the alcohol on her breath, "YOU BITCH!" I felt the burn before I knew what had happened. Shay slapped me so hard I fell and hit my head on the sink. Blood starting to run down my face and my vision started to blur. The last thing I saw was those blue eyes, before I slipped into total darkness.
