A few days have passed since Shay and I discovered that Madison had been the one that was seeking revenge on me. We had no idea why but all we knew was that the evidence was stacked against her and that we would have to confront her sometime soon.
"I don't believe it," Matt opened his mouth wide in shock. We had just told him at recess about the whole situation. Madison hadn't been at school since our study session the other night. We had tried to act as casual as possible but maybe she found out that we knew.
"Well we aren't a hundred percent sure, but we are going to talk to her this afternoon about it," I sighed nervously.
"Do you guys want me to come?" Matt asked generously.
"No, this is something we have to do alone," Shay confirmed. The rest of the day we talked about how we would go about confront Madison and it did nothing to help the butterflies in my stomach. The last time I had been this nervous was for my driving test.
By the time the end of school rolled around I was a nervous wreck.
"Calm down Tayla don't worry, it will all be okay," Shay soothed me and rubbed my arm.
"But if Madison really has done all this stuff then maybe she will react really badly," I looked at her with wide eyes and my teeth chattered, but not from the cold.
Shay thought about her answer carefully, "All we can do is hope for the best, but all I know is that we can't keep living like this, in fear."
"I know, you're right. I'm just so nervous," I looked at the concrete the whole time trying to only concentrate on walking as I was still in my crutches.
"Oh my gosh," Shay unhooked her arm and covered her mouth with her hand.
"What?" I looked up suddenly. I hadn't realized that we had made it to my car. But instead of seeing my normally clean silver car I saw my car had been vandilized. On both sides and the bonnet the word BITCH had been spray painted on. Wow, Madison really liked to use the word bitch apparently, "I-I can't believe this!" I stammered as the tears began to flow.
"Give me your phone," Shay said firmly.
"Why?" I asked between sobs.
"Just trust me," I handed my phone to Shay and I watched her scroll through my contacts, "Hi Madison this is Shay, we just got to Tayla's car and it has been graffitied. Yeah she's really upset... Can you come by her house soon? Okay great see you then," Shay hung up and looked at me with fire in her eyes.
"Thanks," I muttered. I knew that now was the time to confront Madison or this could get even worse.
"You're my bestfriend, no one does all these things to you and gets away with it," Shay crossed her arms and I unlocked my car. We hopped in and I quickly drove out of the carpark to make sure that as little people saw what was written on it.
The doorbell rung a half hour later and Shay answered it while I stayed in my room. A minute later Madison was walking through my door and sitting next to me on the bed with a sad look on her face, "I can't believe this happened to you Tayla are you okay?" She moved in for a hug but I leapt backwards to the other side of the room.
"Don't. Touch. Me," I yelled.
Madison still had her arms in the air from when she was trying to hug me, "What's wrong?" She asked calmly.
"I know it's you. I know you've been doing all this!" I screamed. From the doorway I saw Shay standing there so Madison wouldn't be able to run away from this. It had to end now.
"What did I do Tayla?" Madison didn't looked fazed, infact she looked calm.
"The revenge. Breaking into my room, running me over, spray painting my car," I yelled with tears streaming down my face and onto my t-shirt.
