I parked my car outside the coffee shop and turned off my engine. For a minute I just sat there staring at the door of the shop, wondering if I should go in or if I should turn around and go home. But I couldn't just stand Matt up, that would be terrible and I had to help him with his relationship with Shay. Eventually I got out of the car and walked into the shop. The aroma of coffee hit me instantly and I closed my eyes. Coffee was my second favourite thing in the world besides Ian Somerhalder. (You can probably tell I like Vampire Diaries... A lot.)

"Tayla, over here!" I looked over to see Matt waiting at a booth for me. I hadn't even seen his car out front so I had assumed I had beat him here.

I sat on the opposite side of the booth, "Have you ordered yet?"

"No not yet, I was waiting for you," He smiled. Argh that smile, how could Shay be angry at that smile?

"Oh thanks, I think I'll just get a cappucino, I always get that," I laughed nervously. Why was I nervous? This is Matt, I've known him since Primary School.

"Me too, I'll go and order." He nodded lightly and got up to order our coffees.

For a long time we just sat in silence as we sipped our steaming coffee's. A few more sips and I couldn't take it any longer, "Matt your relationship with Shay is going downhill and I think we can both see that," I said quickly, so quickly I wouldnt be surprised if he didn't understand what the heck I had just said. But he seemed to have got it. He nodded and looked down at his coffee, not able to meet my eyes. "Matt, I don't think staying in this relationship is good for either of you, have you ever thought of ending it?"

Matt sighed, "Of course I have. We have been together for over a year and everything was good up until now, it's like she can't stand me or something. Please Tayla, what have I done wrong. What has she said?"

"Well..." I hesitated, I didn't want to break up my best friends relationship but then again, it wasn't really a relationship at the moment. "She said that you were a bit smothering..." I bowed my head in shame. I felt like such an idiot. I shouldn't have told him something Shay had told me.

"She said that?" He finally looked up at me.

"Yeah, I'm sorry Matt I didn't want to tell you but I also don't want to see you get more hurt than you already are, I hate seeing you like this,"

"No, I'm glad you told me. Man, I must have really been annoying her lately. I think the more she pushed me away the more I tried to cling to what we had," He gripped tightly to his mug, making his coffee slosh over the sides.

"So... What are you going to do?" I stammered.

"Break up," He skulled the rest of his coffee, grabbed his coat and strode out of the coffee shop.

3 hours later

I came out of the bathroom after a hot shower to scrub off all of the worries and drama of today when I heard my phone ring. I looked at the caller ID to see that it was Shay. I dont know why I thought it could be anyone else seeing as I don't exactly have any other friends. I reluctanlty clicked the answer button, "Hey," I tryed to sound casual but my voice came out all squeaky and nervous.

"You would not believe what has just happened!" Shay screamed into the phone.

"What?"

"Bloody Matt just dumped me! HE DUMPED ME!" She screamed 10 times louder than the last. I actually had to hold the phone away from my ear she was that loud.

"Did he say why?" I asked quietly. Please don't know what I told him please.

"He said we had been growing apart and that he could see I didn't have feelings for him anymore and that he was being to clingy and smothering towards me and could see that I didn't like it," She huffed.
