Forbidden Love

Chapter 1

BEEP BEEP BEEP

The obnxious sound of my phones alarm rang into my ears. I rolled over slowly and swiped the screen to stop the noise that meant school was in just over an hour. I walked over to my bathroom and jumped into the shower, turning the heat onto full to wake me up. I scrubbed my body and washed my hair and face. After applying a quick coat of mascara and some lipgloss I pulled on my favourite pair of black skinny jeans, my favourite peblum top and a leather jacket to top it off. I didn't care too much about my appearane but I still wanted to look decent. I gathered up my books, keys, phone and walked out the front door.

"Hey Tayla!" I looked over my shoulder to see my best friend Shay running to catch up with me.

"Hey whats up?" I said as she fell into step with me.

"Why do you always walk so fast?" She complained as she tried unsuccessfully to catch her breath.

"I don't, you just walk at a snails pace," I punched her arm lightly and she hit me back 10 times harder, "OUCH!" I rubbed my sore arm which I'm sure would have a huge bruise by tomorrow.

"That's what you get when you hit me first" She laughed.

"Hey Shay, babe wait up!" We turned to see Matt Shay's boyfriend running towards us. Shay sighed as we came to a stop to wait for him to catch up. I don't know whats been going on between them lately but something is definitely not right.

"Hey," She said in a small voice when he caught up.

"You look beautiful today, as always," He winked at her and drew her into a hug. He leaned into kiss her and I turned away to give them some privacy. But from the corner of my eye I saw her lean to the side so that his lips landed on her cheek instead with the hurt in his eyes clear. He cleared his throat, "So what have you guys got now?"

"We've both got Maths with Mr Henderson," I said quickly, I wanted to get out of this awkward situation as soon as possible, the tension in the air was suffocating.

"Oh that sucks, he's the worst. Want me to walk with you guys?" His smile was hopeful but Shay was quick to shatter what was left of his good mood.

"No thanks, we will be fine. You should probably be getting to History anyway Matt," Shay said in a monotone voice, her face emotionless.

"Oh yeah, I guess your right," Matt looked at the ground, scuffing his feet," I better go, see you guys later." He quickly turned and walked in the opposite direction.

"Argh!" Shay groaned as soon as he was out of earshot, "That boy is so god damn smothering!"

"What?" I raised an eyebrow at her, "He was just being nice."

"You've never had a boyfriend, you don't understand," Shay explained. That kind of hurt, it wasn't my choice that I hadn't ever had one I've just never found the right guy. I didn't want to talk about this anymore so i didnt reply and we walked to maths in silence.

After what seemed like the most boring day in school history it was finally time to go home. I walked to my car and unlocked it.

"Tayla!" I saw Matt running towards me and sighed, I really didn't want to deal with this right now, "Hey, I'm sorry I know you're about to leave but I was wondering if I could talk to you?"

"Sure Matt what's up," I couldnt help but look into those piercing blue eyes and feel my heart give a quick leap.

"It's Shay, why is she acting so distant lately? I don't know what I've done wrong!" He looked so hurt I felt bad for him, relationships were so complicated sometimes I was glad I'm not in one.

"Look Matt I don't think it's really my place to say, maybe you should talk to Shay about this," I started to open my car door, to make a getaway.

"I've tried that and she won't tell me. This has been going on for weeks now and... It's really starting to hurt," The poor guy, his faced caved with hurt. I had to say something, but I didn't expect to say what came out of my mouth.

"Want to grab a coffee?" I blurted. Where had that come from? This is Shay's boyfriend, I sbould not be having coffee with him. What is wrong with me? But it seemed to lighten Matt's spirits.

"Sure, meet at Lenny's Coffeeshop?" He smiled.

"Sounds good," I smiled back up at him. For the first time I was seeing how his blue eyes sparkled when he smiled, and how one corner of his mouth went higher than the other.

Snap out of it Tayla! You shouldn't be meeting up with him in the first place and now you are meeting him for coffee. If Shay finds out she will KILL YOU. Not literally but still, she will KILL YOU.

I shut off the voice in my head telling me to just go home and watch Vampire Diaries and hopped in my car and drove to the coffeeshop.

So I know this wasn't a very long first chapter but I promise they will get longer as I go along :) I just wanted to give you guys a little preview of my writing and the story to see if anyone liked it! Let me know what you think
