MERRY CHRISTMAS GUYS! I hope you all had an amazing day and if you don't celebrate Christmas I hope you had an amazing day anyway, I love you all 💜💚

As soon as the car disappeared from sight Mary felt a wave of dread wash over her.
What had she done?!
There was no way she was going to get away with this Joker had every corner of the house set up with security cameras, he would watch the tapes and know immediately what she had done, there was no escape.....
Mary didn't regret her actions though, she would help Ember escape a billion times over even if it ended in her death. Mary had once admired the green haired clown, she had always been fascinated with criminals and would watch him all the time on the news but seeing the way he treat the woman he loved made all that admiration disappear.
He was a monster!
A cold hearted monster!
Joker didn't deserve Ember and Diamond, they were way too good for him.
Even after her accident Ember had remained sweet and kind. All she ever did was give people second chances and they were always thrown back in her face. It saddened Mary that a person as good as her could be treated so cruelly.

Tears slipped down Mary's frozen cheeks at the realisation that she would never see Ember or her little rugrat every again, the last thing she would see would be Joker's dead cold eyes looking down at her mutilated body. She just hoped she had done enough to give Ember the greatest chance of escaping and there was no way of Joker reaching her.
Mary's clothes were now soaked through, if she stayed out here for too long she would surely catch her death but Mary was numb she couldn't feel the cold. Maybe this was a much better way to die, less painful.

"MARY!" She heard David's voice echo through the snow.
"I'm here!" Mary called back faintly making no attempts to go to him.
"MARY YOU NEED TO GET INSIDE NOW!" He screamed, voice full of worry and authority.
"He's going to kill me David!" She sobbed hugging her midsection as she slowly turned around.
"NO! NO! HE WON'T! I SWEAR TO YOU MARY YOU WILL NOT DIE NOW PLEASE GET IN THE HOUSE!" He yelled reassuringly and it worked.
Before she could stop herself Mary began slowly walking back towards the house, there was something in his voice that made her believe she would survive. David loved her so surely he would protect her from anything even his boss.

Just as she was about to step through the door a pair of arms dragged her inside, a scream almost left her lips until another set gently placed theirs against hers. Mary sighed realising it was David and melted into him.
"What are we going to do?" She whispered pulling away from him and looking up pleadingly.

"You go upstairs and get cleaned up, I've already dealt with the cameras. Do not worry there is no possible way to recover the footage but from now on we must all be careful. Joker is going to know someone has betrayed, we must play our cards right and you need to be strong now go" David explained cupping her cheek delicately.
"But what about the footage showing us together now?" Mary whimpered finding herself doubting him for the first time.
"CTV is down, he won't be seeing anything but a black screen. We don't have much time you need to get up them stairs" he ordered pushing her towards the stairs.

Not wanting to risk their lives further Mary sprinted up the stairs and into her designated room. She had never been a woman of God but she prayed as she sat in the shower, curled up in a ball sobbing for her life. She had done the right thing in helping Ember but she didn't want to die, she didn't deserve to die.
A short while later Mary managed to drag herself out the shower and get ready before she practiced her alibi in the mirror, she needed to get her story straight in order to convince Joker. He was a very difficult man!

It didn't take long for him to arrive, he must have finished with his slut. Mary wondered if the bitch was still here, how she'd like to rip her false brunette locks off her head.
"Maryyyyyyyy" he sang causing shivers to go down her spine.
Taking a deep breathe Mary stood straight and confidently walked out the bathroom.
"What can I do for you Mr J?" She greeted him with the most convincing smile she could muster.
"I'm here for my little clown!" He chirped happily.
