Ember's POV
No matter how much I slammed myself against the door it just wouldn't budge!
I was growing more and more furious by the second, Mr J thought it would be a good idea to continue his 'love making' with Melody but this time he was purposely loud. At first I was jealous and wanted to tear their heads off and stick them on spikes, I mean it was bad enough I caught them and now they had the nerve to carry on!
Sobbing my heart out I listened to them for a few moments before my anger vanished and was replaced with heartbreaking disappointment.
I was done here, completely done!
I honestly didn't care what they did from now on, all I wanted was to reach my baby and get the hell out of here.
My poor peanut I hope she wasn't hearing any of this, the little thing would be terrified.Slamming myself down on the floor I sat there in silence trying to think of a way to escape. Going through the door obviously wasn't going to happen plus my body had grown weak from the attempts so it was time to move on.
I felt like a zombie who thought of nothing but getting to their next meal, in this case it wasn't a meal I was wanting.
It was my sweet peanut!
I was escaping for her, I wanted to give her the life she deserved.
Staring out the window I let out a frustrated sigh and that's when it clicked..........
THE WINDOW!!!!!
Why didn't I think of it earlier?!
That would be my escape!
God it still amazed me how stupid I could be sometimes, my escape was right in front of my and I just sat looking at it.Scrambling to my feet I rushed towards the window and threw it open.
All my hope immediately shattered as I looked out, it was a straight drop to the ground. If I jumped I'd seriously injure myself or die. I could barely see a thing, the once peaceful sleet had turned into a mad blizzard. Now all that was in sight was a rush of white tumbling to the ground as the sky remained black and cold.
Could I really risk taking peanut out in this?!
Of course I could! Everything would be fine as soon as I got into my car.
But how the hell would I escape out this window without dying and how would I get to peanut?!Turning away I once again looked around the room searching for anything that could work.
A sly grin appeared on my face as another idea popped into my head, I was getting good at this!
I could tie Mr J's bedsheets and clothes together to make a rope long enough to reach the ground, then I would climb down and be free but I would have to be quick about it.
Springing into action I grabbed as much material as I could and quickly began tying everything together making sure the knots were strong enough not to snap or come loose. It took a bit of time to do yet Mr J was still going at it with his whore by the time I finished, this meant I had more time.
Tying my rope to the bed frame I ran back to the window and threw it out, not forgetting to test it by resting my weight on it, you could never be too careful. Now it was time for stage two of my plan!
Reaching into my coat pocket I pulled out my iPhone and phoned the only person that could help right now.
The phone rang for a second before it was immediately picked up.
"Ember! Where are you?!" Mary exclaimed with a sob."Mary listen we have to be very quiet, I'm locked in Mr J's room but I'm on my way out now. I need you to sneak Diamond out the house and meet me by my car. You have to do it now and silently! I know it's a lot to ask but please I need my baby with me" I whispered trying not to alert J.
"You know I'd do anything for you Ember! Don't worry I'll have Diamond there ready for you coming" she whispered back.
"Thank you! Remember to wrap her up please" and with that I hung up.
Walking up to Mr J's dresser I pulled every draw open and turned them upside down until I found that necklace. Stuffing it in my pocket I threw my phone onto the bed, I couldn't have him tracking us down. All I needed was money, car keys and the necklace which were all hid within my coat.
Taking a deep breath I headed towards the window, grabbed hold of the rope and climbed out as quietly as possible. I froze for a few moments at the top from the shock of the cold, it was unbelievably freezing and if it wasn't for my will to escape I would have gave up and went back into the warmth.Ignoring the cold running through my body I carefully but quickly made my way down until my heels finally dug into the ground. I've never been able to walk to heels but now I found myself sprinting in them through the snow, a desperate women will do desperate things plus I wasn't sure how much time I had left.
I ran blindly towards where I had parked my car, letting out a sob as I noticed familiar red hair blowing in the wind."MARY!" I cried grabbing her and pulling her into my arms.
"I'm so glad you're ok!" She cried into my ear.
"Where's Diamond?!" I frowned stepping back and looking at her.
Smiling she quickly unzipped her coat and to my surprise Diamond was resting inside smiling widely at me.
"Mammy wuishy hugs!" She giggled looking between the two of us.
"Oh my baby! Mammy's so happy to see you, I love you so much!" I sobbed scooping her into my arms and smothering her warm face in kisses.
"Sorry to interrupt you but you've really gotta go Ember!" Mary exclaimed with frightened eyes handing me the travel bag for diamond.Nodding my head I unlocked the car and hastily placed Peanut in her booster seat and shut the door.
"Thank you! Maybe one day we'll meet again!" I smiled pulling Mary into one last hug.
"Goodbye Ember it's been a pleasure to be your friend" she smiled back through her tears.
Giving her a quick nod I climbed into the drivers side and jumped in, not wasting any time in slamming the key into the ignition and starting the car.
Shutting my door I gave Mary a wave and peeled out the drive way heading towards the gate.Once there I put in the code and watched in amazement as the golden bars opened.
"We're free peanut! We're finally free!" I sobbed driving through the gates and into the night.
