Amber
Leaving the cafeteria is like leaving hell. I head outside to the steps. The smooth cement with jagged drops seemed like an easy way to hurt someone whom was oblivious or was at a disadvantage point. There were kids out but, I felt isolated. I pop in my headphones and open my book.
The book. My ancestors and descendants book.
I feel a weird movement around me, like a lion stalking it's prey. I jerk my head up in alarm, fearful. Then a body sits next to mine.
"Hey, you looked a little lonely." I look to see a boy whom was smiling.
"So you're not afraid of the so called mental girl?"
"Why should I?"
"Why shouldn't you?" I retort. He looks in the distance, his brown eyes shimmering.
"I'm Freddy." He finally says.
"Amber." I squawk nervously.
"Well Amber, We should hangout more. Get to.. know each other," He says but pauses when he sees the Cauldron book.
"Yes," I say, clipped. "Indeed."
"Can I ask you a question then?" He says darkly and I feel anxiety spiral throughout my body.
I spit out a dry tone. "What?"
"You're a witch?"
My heart rate quickens and I feel my breath becoming shorter, sweat starts to form.
"Where would you get that idea, uh, Freddy?" My voice heightens, and he laughs darkly.
"I have that same book." He looks at me, and we look at each other in the eyes.
"Are you?" He presses.
I don't have a choice. "Yes," I pipe up. "Why do you have the same kind of book then Freddy?"
"Oh deary, I'm a warlock."•.•
