Aris
Jace and I kept an eye on that dude all day. All. Freaking. Day.
So far, the most interesting part was that he tripped. It had Jace and I giggling like school girls.
It was lunch, and we were still keeping an eye. We watched him walk out of the cafeteria, and to the courtyard.
We tiptoe like idiots over there.
Jace was practically the only person who saw
my true colors. I don't mind."Aris," Jace nudges me with his elbow. "You should turn into your shadow and spy."
"Not a shabby idea. Not shabby at all." I say, giving him a wicked grin. I meld into my shadow form and run over in Amber's shadow, forming into hers.
"Amber," The dude says, thumbing under her eye. "we're you crying?"
Why would a bada** chick like Amber cry?
Her eyes widen. "Erm... I got an eyelash in my eye."
He chuckles. "Both of them?" She bites her lip nervously.
"Indeed. Indeed, Freddy."
Ah, Freddy. So that's his name.
"Am, what happened?" His eyes shined gold for a split second.
"Hey, I thought I told you to stop charm-speaking me."
"Awh, Amber c'mon we're best friends!" He says a little too enthusiastically. She diverts her eyes and her eyebrows furrow.
"C'mon, charm-speak isn't fair."
He pulls her head back up gently by placing his index finger and middle finger under her jaw. "Please?"
"Ah, but-"
"Please."
"I will kick you in the balls if you ask again. Nope!"
He pouts. "Rude!"
She smiles triumphantly.
"Hey Amber?"
"Yea?"
"Will you tell me if I do," He pauses, placing his fingers under her chin. "this?"
He leans in and kisses her.
Amber's eyes practically pop open.
I gawk.
Jace's jaw drops.
He pulls back. Amber sits there like 'BRO WTF' and he chuckles.
"What was that?" She gapes.
"A casual kiss?"
"I might seriously kick you in the balls!" She threatens while being shook.
"Tell me now?"
"Fine." She sighs. "It's just hormones. I didn't sleep last night and ya girl isn't happy this week." She glares and folds her arms. The bell rings. I run next to Jace and go back to regular form.
"Well she wants to seriously kick him the balls now." I say to Jace. I had to tell him. It's so easy to tell when you're best friend is in love. He smiles with triumph.
"Good."
I hear a small "Oh" behind me and I look back.
"Oh hi Amber." I say with as little emotion as possible.
"We're you guys..?"
I nod. Her face goes gaunt and she looks at Jace.
An emotion passes through her face.
