"Heh.. Hey." Freddy drawls.
"Yes?" I ask impatiently.
"Heheh I'm sorry."
"For?"
"Being curious and casting a spell-... Why do you have stitches?"
"Thanks to your spell, I got aggressive with a thug." I jeer. "So, now I'm injured. Thanks buddy."
He pauses, his mouth forming an 'o', then laughs nervously, "I like your hair."
"You best."
He smiles like an idiot and points his fingers at me, clicking his tongue. "We good?"
"Hm... fine. Just because I'm in a good mood."
"This is a good mood?"
"Watch it."
"Sorry."
I pause. Maybe Freddy can teach me some spells? I mean, I could actually know what I'm doing. That would be a miracle.
"Hm.. say, Freddy?" He eyes me. "Since you cast a spell on me, you should teach me some basics of this witch thing. You owe me."
His lip twitches, and something gleams in his eyes. Something wicked, and I don't know how I feel.
"If that's what you want," He pauses, biting his lip in thought, with a worrying smile. "but basics are still very complex."
"I realize." I narrow my eyes. "Don't underestimate me. I'm not an idiot."
"Just checking. Bring your book." He says with a wink.
With that, he walks away; That leaves me with a churning stomach.
Freddy said to meet in the school courtyard. I listened.
The sun peeked through the clouds. The wind was strong, leaving my now black hair a mess. The trees rustled with a force that gave me anxiety and the streets were empty with only passing cars to catch my attention, but it was nearing the end of April, so it was warm. April showers bring May flowers.
I padded into the courtyard and looked to observe the surrounding area. I had my pocket knife, (and Book of Shadows) just in case.
"Over here!" I hear his distant call. Turning, I scan where I heard his voice. I walk at a fast pace to him.
