The town was small, seemingly innocent. It was beautiful, full of life, buzzing with conversation, but in this town, there was someone new, someone with a bloodline that brought trouble. Curses and history that should stay buried do come to the surf...
My phone buzzes, making me jump from reading some Splintered by A.G. Howard.
I groan. "Goodbye Morpheus. It was nice knowing you." Placing the bookmark in, I shut the book and snatch my phone.
My eyes skim over the text.
'You bring the popcorn, we'll bring the gossip. Boathouse now plz!'
What did they possibly get from following Freddy? He was probably just curious.
Yet he kissed me. For information.
I grab a jacket and run out of the house, taking 10 minutes to get to the boathouse.
I open the door and peer in.
Aris looks at me. "Good timing."
"Thanks!"
I look at Jace and Ana. Both of them looked at me with worry.
"It's bad, isn't." My face falls. Ana opens her mouth but I interrupt. "No, never mind. Let's just start."
"Amber," Jace starts. "Stay away him."
I swallow a lump in my throat.
"Here, I got a voice memo."
Jace pushes his phone over and starts the audio.
' "Get to work! Research Fletcher! Don't mock me!" Something gets hit.
This is the same man.
"Ah, Fredrick, always putting people in their place."'
Fletcher? My ancestor? I go gaunt.
' "She's so fixated on getting her mother back, it blinded her of potential dangers. She only realized it when Ben pointed it out. Though, her darkness came out; She broke the jar with her blood and possession and set Venny on fire with her energy. Issac had to burn her with a symbol on her right arm to let people know she was our target."
"So what shall we do?"
"Easy, I'll sedate her and we can get her to read the ritual with a little bit of torture. Then it's all ours. Her power was sealed by her parents so she can't used it. I had to cast a spell on her to make her think she did it." '
"What the fxck?" Ana growls.
"Little do they know." I murmur, and all eyes snap to me.
"What? What do mean?"
I study them. "Remember Athena? She broke the seal."
They all gape. Well Aris just sits up.
"So.." I say, being awkward.
"We can learn the activation method!" Aris beams.
Beams? Aris? This is weird.
"What's the activation method?" I butt in, so Aris doesn't feel to embarrassed.
"Here goes a deep description–"
"The activation method is incredibly powerful," Aris cuts off Ana. "and puts everyone at their highest power potential, but only us four. That means we could take out an entire army with only a few wounds." He explains, deeply into it. "Basically, all our magic energy merges together, creating magic's friction, and that stimulates the energy around us to multiply by hundreds. Amber, you are already very powerful, so you're going to be the deadly weapon, which sucks since you're their target. Hide your power, because they'll undoubtedly do something about it, withstand the torture, you'll be okay! Jace, you're gonna be terrifying when we do activate, your wolf will have more power, and magic. Your teeth will have toxins that make people suffer, same with claws, and you'll be very hardy. Ana, you're precision and agility with be off the charts, your nails and fangs will carry venom. You're gonna have to be careful, though. They'll probably have holy water, garlic, and crosses. We'll see what happens to me, I'm not sure. They'll probably have silver and wolfsbane, too."
We all nod in agreement.
"Oh, also, Amber? Issac is a psychic. She'll probably read your mind to predict your next moves." Jace says.
I nod, feeling fiery.
Playedagain, but I don't care now.
I look at their faces, like they were expecting something.
"I'm not angry, nothing should break." I point out and Ana looks away, confused on how I knew.
I don't know how I knew. It's not like they looked terrified, no.
Jace shatters the silence, "So, how did Athena do it?"
"Not sure, I went from knowing nothing, couldn't use magic, to knowing what feels like everything."
"You should do something!"
"Like?"
"Uhm, levitate Aris."
"What?" Aris screeches.
"Okay." I simper. I look at Aris and we make eye contact, and suddenly he jumps and goes two feet in the air.
He squaws in horror, and I put him back down.
"What the fxck? What was that?"
"Meatballs," I respond."Can we learn the activation method now?"
Okay I felt really cool.
An unreadable emotion flickers through Aris's face and he nods.
"Let's do it."

hey guys! i know, "This chapters short, rude." (heh, when I started this book 748 words seemed like a book.) But I have all my points made for this chapter, so..
