"No!"

Fire was everywhere. Am smelled the burning wood and stood in fear as the flames raised higher and the fire's heat got hotter.

"Hana, get the girls out of here!"

'Daddy!'

The Ratatta mew mew pushed Am out of the way of the falling flaming tree, crushing him instead.

"Daddy!" Am cried.

Erica grabbed her arm and pulled her away from danger. There was crying from the distance and Am found her mother with baby Mya in her arms. Hana grew weak and gave Mya to Erica, she must of inhaled too much smoke.

"Take Mya and get out of here," she wheezed, "I don't think I'm going to make it..."

"No.." Am sobbed, "Mama, you can't leave! I can't lose you too!"

"Am..." Hana whispered, "Stay strong my dear. Promise me you... you will listen to your older sister..."

Hana paused.

"Erica, look after your sisters..."

Soon, their mother's life was lifted.

"No! Mama!" Am sobbed.

"Am, come on..." Erica sighed, "We have to get going..."

"She's right," called a voice, "There's nothing we can do now."

"Glenda!" Erica gasped.

"Erica, Am, we have to get out of here," Glenda added.

The ninetails mew mew led the way out of danger. Am was still shocked and had no other choice but to follow Erica and Glenda. Mya cried and Erica had to stop to bottle-feed her. Am had to catch her breath, but still in shock after losing both her parent in the same day. Tears of fear and sadness rolled down her face. Glenda calmed her cousin down. They stayed in a nearby cave for the night. Glenda looked after her cousins for one night, and the next one wasn't good. Voices came closer.

"I'll hold them off," Glenda added, "You three get out of here, get as far as you can."

"No, we don't want to lose you too," Erica protested.

"I'm not afraid of death," Glenda replied, "I can't bare to watch you three die. I know what I'm doing, trust me. Go, run!"

"But-"

"Please, Erica. For your parents' sake."

Erica nodded and took Am and Mya with her. When they reached about ten feet, they heard Glenda's scream from the distance.

"No... I can't leave her..." Erica moaned, "Am, wait here with Mya."

"I'm coming with you," Am added.

They saw Glenda's lifeless body near the cave entrance when they returned. An open wound on the left side on her side was split open two inches long.

"I can't believe she's gone..." Erica sobbed, "First Daddy, then Mama, now Glenda..."

Am got on her knees and sobbed softly because Mya was asleep. Erica gave Glenda a proper burial and took Mya in her arms, the baby was still asleep. The last of the flames were dying down.

"We can't leave her, Erica!" Am wined, "We should of went back to help Mama!"

Erica shook her head.

"Am, there's no time! We have to get out of here!"

She saw the flames raising up again.

"But what about-"

Erica cut the Pichu girl off.

"Am, I am older than you and I say we get out of here now!"

Am had no choice but to obey and followed Erica out of the burning forest and out of danger as far as they can go. Never before a child of 4 years of age shouldn't suffer such a tragedy. Am and Erica found a refuge house in a newly grown forest and stopped to catch their breath.

"Well, this is our new home, Am," Erica panted.

Am was still in shock and didn't say anything. Erica's green eyes were gazed on her sister.

"Am, I promised Mama I will look after you and Mya," she said calmly, "Don't be like that..."

Am started crying.

"Am..."

Erica hugged her sister with one arm while holding baby Mya with the other arm. As a 7 year old, Erica still has a lot to learn about responsibility. She opened the door. The placed looked deserted.

"What do you think, Am?" she asked, "You like it here?"

Am walked in the house, looking around at everything in sight.

"I guess this is okay," she answered.

Before Am could say anything else, Mya started crying. Erica guessed she must be hungry.

"Oh, I almost forgot!" she gasped, "Am, where's her bottle?"

"I have it right here," Am answered while looking through Mya's baby bag.

She lent Erica the bottle and the formula while she holds her baby sister.

'It's my turn since Erica fed her last time...' Am thought.

Am and Erica agreed to work together to raise Mya. That evening, Erica had their beds made and stuff and Mya's new crib built. Am fell asleep after a long journey to find a new home
