Erica decided to follow Am the next day. She is wearing a lighter coat because the warmth in her body keeps her warm since she's a Vulpix and a fire type. Erica followed Am in secret as she met up with Otto. The looked pleased to see each other again. Erica kept her breathing quiet as she watched them from behind a fallen tree.
'Now where is she going?' she thought.
Am led Otto to the shelter they were last time. Erica's green eyes were wide, knowing that Am would take Otto there.
"Am!"
Am gasped and turned around to face her older sister.
"Erica, you followed me," Am added, looking annoyed.
"So this is what were you doing yesterday?" Erica asked.
"Relax," Am replied, "I am just spending time with Otto."
"I promise I won't let anything happen to your sister," Otto put in.
Erica looked a little concern.
"You could have told me where you're going," she said to Am, "If Mya can't lie, then nether can you..."
Erica remembered Mya's words from last night.
"Am, what is she talking about?" Otto asked.
"She thinks I should tell her everything about where I'm going..." Am replied with a shrug.
"Andrew's like that too..." Otto admitted.
"Okay, I better leave you two lovebirds alone now..." Erica added as she walked back to the base.
"Okay, that was... awkward," Am said to Otto after Erica left.
"Yeah..." Otto sighed, "I'll get the door open."
He lifted up the lid and Am went head in first and this time Otto waited a little bit longer before he entered in and tries to not bumped into Am a second time. Am turned on the light and went down the latter. Having a feeling Erica might go after her, but she let it go and let loose for a bit.
"Well..." Otto said softly, "Your older sister seems very concern. Now she knows where we hang out, she-"
"You worry too much," Am giggled, "I can trust my sister. She raised me and Mya ever since-"
She stopped and didn't want to talk about her past. Otto looked concerned and sat beside her. Am tried to forget the day she lost both her parents and Glenda, but it's stuck in her memory like a scar.
"What's wrong?" Otto asked.
"It's something I don't want to remember," Am answered with a sad sigh, "Erica has been raising me and Mya ever since our parents died in a while fire. Glenda died too to protect us. I couldn't bare the loss of anyone. Erica and I both raised Mya together until she was old enough."
Am looked away and layed on her belly, crossing her arms and rested her chin under them. She looked very sad all of the sudden and started crying softly. Otto picked up her discomfort and sat next to her, comforting her by rubbing her back. He wondered why it upset her so much.
"You made it through," he said, trying to sound calm, "You have your sisters and that all that matters, right? I still have my brothers as well. I lost my parents too, but my mother died from childbirth, giving birth to Gar. I know how that feels, Am. Trust me, I know what you're going through."
Am calmed down a little.
"Even I do too miss my parents," Otto continued, "I think about my mother everyday, same with my father, before he passed away. Andrew has been looking after me and Gar, like your older sister does for you and Mya."
Otto's words mean a lot to Am. She rubbed off the remaining tears off her face and sat up.
"You do understand what I went through..." she sniffled.
Otto opened his arms to give her a comfortable hug. He held her as he thought about his father. Andrew reminded him of his father each day. Like Am, Otto has to look after Gar. His thoughts faded when Am looked at him and blinked.
"Well, I hope this will get your mind off things," he said, "I did tell your sister that I won't let anything happen to you."
Am's tears were dried up as she tries to ignore the long term memory loop in her head. Her heart pounded as Otto hugged her, taking in his scent quietly through her nose. She thought he smelled nice. Otto set his chin on top of Am's bright blonde hair, taking in her scent through his nose too. He thought to himself it's weird smelling someone. They broke apart for a moment. Am felt so much calmer.
"I needed that," she said at last, "Thank you..."
Before leaving the underground room, Otto hauled her for a bit with his male Pikachu tail.
"Wait," he said calmly, "I want to return the favor."
He leaned forward and downward, his lips touched AM's forehead. Am blushed.
"Thanks," Am said before leaving.
Mya was playing with Gar and Abby in the snow. Abby didn't mind the snow or the cold. Gar remembered not to be rough on her as he played. Like cat and pokemon cat mew mews, they kept their claws sheathed when playing and training. Mya was wondering where Am was, but she saw her with Otto, holding hands with him. Gar looked too. They both knew they would end up together like the middle aged children. They both nodded to stay friends until they reach Am and Otto's age. Abby wanted to see what's going on, but Mya covered her eyes with her orange cat tail, knowing that the younger Skitty girl is too young to watch this kind of event.
"Hey!" Abby growled, "I wanna see!"
"This is not something for little kids to see," Gar replied.
"Aw, come on...!" Abby wailed.
"No," Mya purred, trying to sound calmly than Gar.
Am and Otto spotted the younger kids and Abby was getting irritated and swat Mya's tail off her face.
"Be nice," Am told the little Skitty girl.
"I wanted to see what Mya and Gar were seeing," Abby spat.
"Now now, little one," Otto said, patting Abby's head, "No need to get mad, but they have a point here."
Mya understood. She went up to Am. Gar went up to Otto. Both the sisters and the brothers said their good byes before returning to their bases.
"How was it?" Mya asked.
"Nothing serious at the moment," Am answered, "Mya, you're too young for these kind of things yet."
"Yeah yeah yeah..." Mya muttered, "but I was just curious, Am."
Abby was behind her, willing to get out of the cold weather. They walked inside the base. Lora was watching them coming in.
