Mya was willing to try to swim, but she had one thing she has to do first. That evening when everyone was asleep, she snuck out and went down a path. She didn't know Erica was following her in secret. The Vulpix girl quietly followed her youngest sister without making a single sound. Mya soon met up with Gar, chatting a little bit with him. Then a flash from the sky caught Erica's attention for a short time. She then appeared behind Mya just about two five feet away.

"Mya!"

Erica's stern call made Mya jump.

"You followed me!" she hissed, looking annoyed.

"Tell me what this is all about," Erica demanded.

"So I made friends with a boy, it's no big deal," Mya pointed out.

"This is a big deal," Erica added.

"No, it's not," Gar growled, "and I swear on my life I won't let anything happen to your sister. We're just friends."

"Well, I would like Mya to tell me herself," Erica growled back, "So mind if you butt out of this one for once?"

Mya felt a little anger as her orange cat tail lashed.

"Mya, I think I should go back," Gar said to her.

He left and Mya looked like she's about to let loose with her fury.

"Erica, I can't believe you were following me!" she hissed.

"It's a good thing I was," Erica retorted, "You can't kiss Gar, you're too young for this."

"I know I am," Mya added, "but when I'm older I'll do it,"

"That's what I was worried of," Erica sighed, "but you know you will wait at least 4 more years. A glittered star of our mother's was a warning."

"A warning?" Mya echoed, "Of what?"

"You shouldn't hear this from me," Erica added, "Trust me, Mya, do not kiss Gar."

"Okay," Mya sighed in defeat, "I won't kiss him. If you're sure, I'll listen."

"That's good," Erica added, "Let's get back to the base now."

Morning came and Am was the first one up. She knew about Mya's mishaps last night from Erica and is aware of it. She went downstairs to look for Angela. She saw Mya going outside to meet Lora for her first swimming lesson. Am's thoughts caught up to her when she went outside. Angela was all ready there, looking down at the river.

"Hey," Am called as she approached the Glaceon girl, "I hope to get ready to swim here."

"Maybe later," Angela replied, "Just watching how Lora teaches your little sister."

"I'm still unsure about this..." Am sighed.

Lora showed some basic swimming moves to Mya so that way she understands what to do. Mya didn't go in the water this time and Lora was only showing her.

"Come with me," Angela said, "and I hope you packed a bathing suit with you when you moved in."

"Wait, now?" Am asked, "It's a little late to start swimming in the fall, Angela."

"I know, I can teach you in the spring time," Angela replied.

Am nodded, understanding her friend. She felt something strange inside her, but she didn't let it go to her mind.

"Am, Angela. I didn't even notice you," Lora said when she brought Mya with her, "You're right, Am. It's getting colder and I think we start in the spring."

Mya nodded, remembering how cold the water was.

"I can handle the cold," Angela replied.

"You're right," Lora pointed out, "but you're an ice type. Am and Mya aren't. Abby came with a fever this morning."

"What happened?" Mya asked.

"Well, she wanted to swim, but the water was too cold for her and I don't want her catching Pneumonia."

Am nodded in agreement.

"She's with Tammy, right?"

"She is, but I don't want anyone making the same mistake Abby did," Lora sighed, "I can't lose her too. She's the only family I have left."

"You lost your mother too?" Am asked.

"It was eight years ago when I lost my mother," Lora sighed, "I never knew my father and Abby was just a toddler at the moment. My mother was badly wounded from the first explosion and I couldn't leave her. There wasn't much time to get help I escaped over the fence before the second explosion happened. Glass flew everywhere and planks of wood from our home. I was lucky I made it out alive. Abby had a minor burn and I did feel glass scratching my ear. I was feeling a little weak and Abby went to get help. Tammy and her mentor Ada took us in. The pain in my ear was getting more intense."

"That's tetchiness," Am said, "It happens if glass cuts you or metal. Steel type mew mews are immune to tetchiness I hear."

"I knew it was tetchiness," Lora added, "Ada tended to me and Tammy tended Abby. Soon we were able to travel again. Ten years passed when we were living together, and that was when Abby-"

"Ambushed me," Mya put in, "and I had no idea you were suffering..."

"I have good reasons," Lora stated, "That's when I grew tired of traveling and move in this base with you gals."

Erica was asleep on the couch the next morning. Mya woke up and saw Am was still asleep.

"Good morning, Am," the cat girl purred.

"Good morning, Mya," the Pichu girl answered with a yawn, "Erica told me about your mishap the other night."

Mya let out an annoyed sigh.

"Erica couldn't keep her nose out of my business..." she growled.

"You know she's looking out for you," Am replied, getting up.

"I'm good at taking care of things myself," Mya added, "and I don't need Erica watching over me!"

"Mya, don't be difficult with our sister," Am sighed, "I know she's a pain in the neck at times, but one day you will understand why she protects you."

"Oh, so Erica told you to butt in too?!" Mya hissed, "Well, I won't tolerate it!"

Mya stormed out the door.

"Mya, wait!" Am called, "I didn't mean..."

Then Am hauled herself, knowing she would make the matter worse for her little sister. So she stayed in her room.
