"You like Kenzie don't you?" Lauren demanded the moment we reached home and I deapanned, staring at her in disbelief. Yes, she just had to be that straightforward and exceptionally nosy.

"What has it got to do with you? And why are you so nosy?" I retorted irritably, while Lauren rolled her eyes dramatically.

"That's my best quality so stop complaining. Now be a nice dear and spill," Lauren instructed as I sighed. The image of Brandon and Kenzie kissing played repeatedly in my head again.

Grinding my teeth unconsciously, I shrugged helplessly. I wanted to sadistically punch the life out of Brandon suddenly and hopefully box all his pearly teeth out. Biting my lips, I looked at Lauren uncertainly. I was never good at my feelings.

"Maybe..." I trailed off, and walked backwards so fast that I twisted my toe in my haste to get away from Lauren.

She was now prancing around, moving her arms in an extremely frightening way. Especially with that sharp elbow of hers.

"What's your freaking problem? First you act like a seventy year old aunt, and now you are playing the role of an over excited baby?" I pursed my lips at Lauren who wagged her finger at me disapprovingly.

"I'm just happy, mister, so chill your tits. You finally moved on, big bro, you finally found a new girl to bring you joy," Lauren wiped her tears comically and I tried to suppress the groan rising within me. She's just so childish.

"It's not like we are getting married, so I don't see what's there to be so happy about," the words were out if my mouth before I could take them back.

I could only watch in horror as Lauren's mouth slowly opened in a big scream of joy.

"Jeez, Laur, I don't mean it that way, I mean, I don't want to get married to her," I explained patiently but Lauren was now bouncing up and down on my bed.

"Don't worry, I know, bro. You don't only want to get married to her, you would love to," Lauren smirked and I face-palmed.

"Who did you say Johnny wanna marry again?" my older sister Darian walked into my room, twirling her phone in her hands with a curious look on her face.

This was a total female invasion of property.

Which meant boys are not going to get their peace.

Hurrying forward, I pushed my sisters out of the door as I slammed it hurriedly behind them, ignoring their protests.

Leaning against it, I heaved a sigh a relief before collapsing on my bed, tired of all the events that had happened today. On the way back, it was really awkward. No one was talking at all and Brandon kept shooting me angry looks when I should be the one drowning in vinegar.

Shaking my head to clear my thoughts, I turned around, sighing, before leaping away from my bed and crashing onto my carpeted floor.

A pair of soft brown eyes peeked up at me from beneath my cushions and a tinkling laugh filled the room.

I looked up from my awkward position on the floor to see Kenzie snuggling in my blankets, grinning down at me.

"Johnny darling, I didn't know I was so scary," she drawled, smirking and I groaned, slumping back onto the floor.

I rubbed my eyes wearily, not knowing what to say to her. The image of her and Brandon pressed together just keeps playing in my head.

Slowly she inched to the edge of the bed and leaned down, looking at me intensely. Her curtain of hair hanging down her face tickled my chin.

"John? Are you sleeping?" she whispered softly, her minty raspberry breath grazing my face softly.

Slowly, a wicked thought surfaced in my mind.

I evened my breathing immediately and controlled the rise and fall of my chest.

Sighing, I could feel Kenzie lower herself further as she prodded me on the chest with her finger.

"John, I swear, if you don't-" she didn't even finish her sentence before my hands jumped into action, grabbing her by her shoulders and pulling her down.

She let out a muffled shriek as she crumpled against me and I lay flat on the ground.

When I regained my composure, I looked up at her, my heartbeat already erratic as she stared down at me with those wide brown eyes of hers. I gulped. Kenzie will be the death of me one day.

She was so close now. Even our noses were just centimeters apart. And her lips, full and tempting. Licking my parched lips, I swallowed the sandpaper choking me at the back of my throat.

"Kenzie," I said softly as she looked at me, her eyes clouding over with confusion and I sighed internally. She will never know how I feel about her.

There's only freaking Brandon. It's always Brandon. The smarter, sweeter kid. Not the player. With the bitter thoughts in my mind, I slowly slipped away from reality as a grimace puckered my lips.

Suddenly, her sweet voice knocked me out from my ponder. She got even closer now until I could count the number of freckles she had. Dangerous. I never knew freckles were hazardous.

"John?" her voice cracked and I shifted uncomfortably under her. She wasn't heavy, but my naughty mind was now thinking of things that I should not be thinking about.

She was so close and all my hormones were acting up.

Slowly, I reached my hand up tentatively and brushed it over her lips slightly. She shuddered and I smiled at her reaction. I tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear carefully, leaning upwards.

But before I could do anything, we were disrupted.

The door suddenly crashed open and Lauren tumbled in, followed by Darian.

I could only groan as Lauren's mouth opened into a shriek of delight at the position we were in.

Crap.
