"no, don't even think about it," i sighed as lauren continued pestering me.

"please, kenzie, you have to come to my party," lauren begged while i shook my head stubbornly.

"i don't want to see him," i muttered, before burying my head in my hands, "gosh, i ruined it all, didn't i?"

"yeah, you did," lauren nodded matter-of-a-factly as i scowled, "that just made me decide that i don't want to go to your party,"

"what? but you were the one who did it!"

"ugh, i'm so damn stupid. i mean, it was okay already! he apologized and all, but why? why did i have to reject his apology? now he's ignoring me again!" i repeated what i have been ranting about for the past hour once more as lauren shook her head.

"yeah, you were dumb, what happened after you were caught, anyways?" she asked curiously.

"the principal gave us a scolding about how we were underage and shouldn't be caught kissing in the janitors' closet!" i threw my hands up in the air, "i mean, kissing? more like being dumb! and why in the world would the principal go knocking on the janitors' closet door?"

lauren nodded sympathetically as i sighed again. i was so, so stupid. curse my pride.

"i promise you don't have to see johnny or talk to him at all," lauren said suddenly as she smirked at me and i sighed, knowing that she won this argument.

"fine, fine, remember your promise,"

"but you can't ignore him forever, you know?"

. . .

"remind me what i'm doing here again?" i asked lauren as the disco lights in her living room blinded my eyes. the music was cranked up way too high for my liking. how do people deal with this kind of heavy metal music, i honestly don't know.

"you are here to have fun!" lauren screamed over the music as she bobbed along to the rhythm. i scowled as i was jostled around. i knew that this was a terrible idea.

"oh look, they are at it again," lauren gave a dry laugh as she looked over my shoulder. feeling curious, i turned around.

and regretted it.

johnny orlando was just standing a few meters away from me, with a random girl in his arms. he and nadia just broke up, and he was already all over another girl. he was literally shoving his tongue down her throat and practically eating her face off.

"nothing to do with me," i lied, before hissing at lauren, "i thought you said that we wouldn't see each other?"

"i lied," lauren shrugged playfully, the alcohol already getting to her.

i gave a high pitched cackle as i watched them through a heavy session of make out. my heart felt so uncomfortable and heavy in my chest as it sunk lower.
