"Hi? Who is this?" I asked as I picked up my phone, an unknown number flashing on my screen.

"I'm Hayden, is this Miss Wikipedia ?" His gruff voice asked and my heart immediately picked up speed before I frowned. Off limits. Hayden is off limits. I'm never ever getting close to him. After helping both of them, I'm out if this.

Almost dropping my phone, I fumbled with it again before pressing it closer to my ear.

"Miss Wikipedia?" He asked again as I quickly replied. Gods, what was wrong with me today? Where was the strong, decisive, independent Annie?

I took a deep breath, "It's Annie by the way, call me by my real name,"

"Um, alright. So Annie, do you want to meet up somewhere like now? I think it would be better if I let it out quickly because Kenzie obviously seems happier with Johnny," He asked, a little uncertain and bitter at the same time.

"Yes! I mean, sure," I mentally curse myself for being too eager and enthusiastic while Hayden chuckled on the other end.

"Ok, see you at the ice cream parlour," he said and hung up while I froze in my position, the phone still clutched to my ear. I could almost imagine him grinning on the other side and I couldn't help but let a smile rise up my face too.

"Hey," I smiled and said softly as I neared Hayden. He immediately turned around before grinning when he was that it was me.

"Hey, Annie, well, um, as you know, i'm Hayden. I thought we should have a proper greeting," he stretched his hands out as I looked at him weirdly. Wasthis how he usually greet people?

"I knew about you since last night. Kenzie spent a long time arguing with Lauren about you and that blind date catastrophe," I smiled awkwardly as he rubbed the nape of his neck.

"Well, I didn't really know it was her but I had a feeling when Lauren told me it was a girl called Mackenzie when she was setting us up," he admitted bashfully as I widened my eyes.

"You better don't let Kenzie hear about this or else she'll go berserk over you and Lauren," I advised quickly while he chuckled. There was an awkward silence for a while as we both looked down.

"Sorry, I'm not very good with these kind of intro stuff, I mean I had been friends with Kenzie for around three years before I had the guts to ask her out," Hayden scratched his hair. I always thought boys who were awkward and cute were really attractive. Then I realised what I was thinking about. Oh gods no.

To cover up my burning cheeks, I quickly walked into the ice cream parlour with Hayden trailing behind me, looking bemused.

"Awkwardness is not really my thing, sorry," I smiled, a little embarrassed as Hayden raised an eyebrow, "Where's the confident Miss Wikipedia from this morning?"

I bit my lip, but thankfully found an excuse to ignore his question. The wide array of ice creams.

My eyes immediately widened.
