Reed stopped in front of the pack house. I got off his furry back and started inside the house with Reed close to my side. His body head radiated off of him and onto my side. Reed looked up at me with his glowing yellow eyes and nudged my side with his nose. I stroked his head and looked back towards the house wanting nothing more than to collapse onto my bed and cry. I walked up the steps with Reed still in wolf form and up to the door. No one was inside, Reed stayed outside the house.

"There are some clothes in the trunk down the hall." I said pointing down one of the hallways.

Joshua kept a big trunk full of clothes in the pack house and stashed them everywhere he could on the property. Reed padded over to the trunk and I made my way upstairs to my room. My phone had been lost when I'd been kidnapped so I couldn't call my parents and tell them I'm okay. There were other ways I could've contacted them but I really didn't feel like it, I just didn't have it in me. I wondered what the Hunters were doing. What Krista was doing, if they were coming to the pack territory again. For, like, the third time. We really need to up the security. I felt extremely tired and sore. My throat hurt, not only because my best friend had tried to kill me, but because there was a huge lump in my throat. It was taking all my self control not to have a complete meltdown and scream. But that would just make my throat hurt more.

Tears still stained my cheeks. Shifting so I was laying against the incredibly comfortable pillows that surrounded my headboard and stared at my TV. I turned it on and starting watching some pointless show. Footsteps shuffled up the stairs and Reed appeared at my door. Without speaking, he made his way over to me, sat down on the bed next to me, and wiped away one of my tears. I felt extremely comfortable with him, with him I would be safe. Safe from Krista, safe from Hunters, safe from the world. The terribly cruel world that made my best friend someone who kills people like my family for a living. Before I knew it, my head was on his chest and his arm was wrapped around me. I was starting to drift off. Reed reached his hand up and started stroking my hair. I fell asleep feeling like everything might be okay, but in the back of my mind I knew it wouldn't be.

The next thing I knew, something really heavy landed right on my stomach. I groaned and opened my eyes. Emily sat on my stomach looking at me with big innocent doe eyes.

"RED!" she screeched.

"Emily!" I shouted snatching her up and giving her a huge hug.

I heard a grumble from behind me and saw Reed still stretched out on my bed. He sat up and opened his eyes slowly. He looked adorable.

"What is it?" he asked in his sleepy voice.

"Emily." I said releasing Emily from my huge bear hug.

"Who?" Reed asked his eyes landing on Emily, "Oh."

"This is my little sister, Emily, I'm not sure you've officially met." I said as Red smiled at Reed.

"Right, you're little sister." Reed mumbled to himself.

"I'm Emily," Emily said even more adorably than Reed and his sleepy voice.

"Reed," Reed said extending his hand.

Emily took it and shook three of his fingers that she could barely wrap her whole hand around, at which point I thought I would melt. Emily and Reed kept talking for the next three seconds when Melanie burst into my room then my mom, and then my dad. My dad's eyes nearly bugged out of his head when he saw me and Reed slouching around on my bed then my mom pointed out to him that we both had all of our clothes on. He calmed down slightly, to the point where he wouldn't kill Reed. At least, not at that moment.

Melanie's eyes started welling with tears when she saw me and Reed together. She sat down on the bed and started sobbing. Hard. And not the regular, tears streaming down her face and talking clearly. No, I mean sobbing so hard she couldn't even breathe right kind of crying. If you've ever cried that hard or seen someone who has cried that hard, you know it's not pretty and just about the most unflattering thing you could ever do. She was opening her mouth and saying something but it just sounded like Dory in Finding Nemo when she was trying to talk to that whale that ate both her and Merlin. It took me a second to realize that she wasn't just wailing, she was trying to say words.
