So...apparently, my dad and my sister are werewolves. Not just any ordinary werewolves, as ordinary as werewolves go, they're also part of the largest and most powerful packs in North America. The Blood Moon Pack. Technically, I'm part of the pack too but not really. I'm human. My sister however ...not human. My mom: also human. And not only are they part of the pack, they're descendants of the Alpha. My dad's mom AKA my grandmother is the Luna. That's like, the Alpha's wife. My grandpa, is the alpha. Or was. My grandmother and grandfather are both dead. So, that means my dad's up. He's supposed to go back to the Pack House or whatever and "rule" as Alpha. Basically, he just got forced into werewolf presidency. And we have to go with him.
We're still staying in California. But moving up by a big national park a couple hours outside of Sacramento. We live half and hour away from LA so Sacramento is actually about a eight hour drive from where we are currently living. Or were. Now Emily is passed out and drooling on my lap on the plane. Our stuff is being driven to the house where my dad grew up. Krista did not take it well. She's probably texting me like crazy but I turned my phone off because I'm paranoid about planes crashing and the turbulence is driving me crazy. Every time the plane shudders I grip the arm rest like my life depends on it. I try not to think about it. I try as hard as I can not to think of the fact that I'm thousands of feet up in the air. And there's nothing to catch me if I fall. Not a safety net, not someone totally prepared to catch me, not a parachute, not a trampoline, nothing. Just thousands of feet of air then cold hard ground. I shuddered. Emily stirred and I took a deep breath.
The seat belt sign flashed and I tightened mine even tighter. I nudged Emily awake and made her sit up. I tightened her seat belt tighter. We were landing. That meant more turbulence AKA more torture.
After what seemed like an eternity, we landed. I thought being up in the air was bad but when we landed I could feel the vibrations in the plane. Suddenly, I could feel the incredible speed the plane was going. And more importantly, I could see it. Looking out of the window you could see the lights on the ground whipping by. The morning light hurt my eyes that were huge when I saw how fast we were going. I quickly shut the window cover thingie and tried to hang onto my lunch.
We got off the plane and entered the terminal. The flight had only been an hour and a half but it felt like it had lasted forever. At one point I believed with all my being that I was going to die. Apparently, I'm afraid of planes.
My hair was tied in a messy bun on top of my head and I was wearing tights and a blue pajama shirt I owned that said "Calm the Puff Down". Emily tugged at my hand and looked up at me with her big brown eyes. I bent down and she hopped on my back. I gave her a piggy back the rest of the way. We found our way to the doors past the baggage claim. I just had my carry on. I didn't really have that much stuff in it. I expected that we were going to go outside and hop on a bus but my dad stopped at a man who was holding a sign that said "Miller". Our last name.
My dad gestured for all of us to go with the man who had been holding the sign. We went outside and the man opened up the door to a limo.
"You've gotta be joking,"I muttered to myself.
Emily was falling asleep, right about now she'd be taking her nap. But Dad had to uproot our whole lives and move us to some farm two hours away from Sacramento. I know it's not his fault for some reason. He apologized but said it was his duty and then Emily laughed. I ignored him because Krista was blowing up my phone with text messages. She probably still is. The driver looked deadly serious. Dad said that Joshua would be meeting us at the house. We got in the car and took off.

My new house is freaking gorgeous. Seriously. It's a traditional french farmhouse. It looks so beautiful. My dad paid the driver and we stepped out. I gently shook Emily awake so she could see the house for the first time. She screamed and ran around the black doughnut driveway with two paths one leading to the three garage doors next to the grass lawn surrounded by flowers and trees expertly planted. In the doughnut hole thingie there was a big tree with little flowers planted at its base. My mom had a huge smile that split her face in half. Her green eyes sparkled. She brushed her dark brown bangs behind her ear, the only long part of her hair since she has a pixie cut and practically ran up the porch steps.
