When I woke up my head was killing me. It was half past one in the afternoon and I smelled like I felt. Horrible. I walked into my bedroom, filled the bath up almost until it was overflowing and stepped into the amazingly warm water. My headache disappeared as the steam caressed my face. I sighed. I washed myself and my hair, getting the smell of chloroform and my sweat off of me. After I was done, I got dressed in some jeans and a sweater, not really feeling like dressing up. Downstairs, I made myself some Top Ramen, wanting nothing but to eat what my mom likes to call 'salt with noodles and a little bit of broth'.

Right when I started boiling the water, my dad came in and turned off the stove. He looked at me, "You need to come with me,"

"Why?"I said following him out of the kitchen.

He didn't say anything, he just kept walking. That was a bad sign. My dad was usually a nice guy, ridiculous at time, never really serious. He looks really scary and intimidating though, because he's so tall and strong. But all that meant to me when I was little was that he could throw me higher.

He lead me into the garage and motioned for me to get into the car. I obeyed. He drove us off the Pack House property and into the heart of the whole property. In the heart of the property, there was a little shopping center. It was past the school, and past the residential part of the territory. He drove up in front of a gym. He got out but I stayed inside. My dad opened my door, "Come on."

I shook my head, "Unless there's an ice cream shop inside that gym, I'm not going in."

He sighed and opened the door wider, "Get out."

I crossed my arms over my chest stubbornly.

"If you don't get out right now, I'm going to make you go to school tomorrow."

I jumped out of the car, "Well, what are you waiting for?"I said walking up to the front of the gym.

My dad opened the door and lead me to the back of the gym. The spot was isolated and was empty. Except for Melanie, Blake, Darren, and Joshua standing towards one of the punching bags. There were weights, lifting stations, and other exercise machines scattered around a big mat in the center of the room.

"Joshua,"my dad said.

"Alpha, Renee."he said nodding his head at us.

"Why are you guys all here?"I asked Melanie, Blake, and Darren.

"We're training."Blake said.

I groaned, "Are you serious? Training all morning and getting kidnapped wasn't enough?"I whined.

"No, because you got kidnapped."Joshua said plainly.

"He's right, the whole point of training you, so you wouldn't need them as much,"My dad said gesturing to Melanie, Blake, and Darren.

"You guys still need to tell me what that was about."I said angry that I had to do more training.

"Fine, I'll tell you what, the more progress you make in your training the more answers you get."Darren said smirking.

"What, like every sit up I do, you answer a question?"I asked.

Melanie nodded, "Yeah, the more work you do, the more questions we answer."

My dad smiled, "Have fun."

He walked off and I cracked my knuckles making Melanie cringe and gag a little, "Let's do this."

"Okay, so final exam starting now. Everything you can remember about what we told you. Go."said Melanie looking at her watch.

"The people who kidnapped us are our rivals. They are the Nightwalker Pack, they are the territory closest to us, they were on my dad's territory when they attacked us, they are the second largest and strongest pack besides us, they probably kidnapped us because they wanted information, and we have no idea what they're gonna do next."I said all in one or two breaths.

Darren nodded along with everything I had said. That was all the information I got out of them before I collapsed, my body refusing to do any more crunches.

"You guys are still gonna fill me in on the rest, right?"I said really hoping that I wouldn't have to more training.

They had trained me on fighting, exercise, endurance, and self defense.

Blake nodded, "Yeah, you should also know the ranking of the packs. There's the Alpha who is the chief of the pack, the Beta is his right hand man and second in command, the Delta is in training to be a Beta and is third in command."

"Then there are Sentinels which are what we are, they keep the pack safe and patrol the territory. It's also our job to greet new members of the pack but if we're out then it goes to any member of the Alpha family. Then Elders, pretty self explanatory. They are wise, older wolves with a lot of experience and advice."Darren said.

"Then, there is the Scouts who are responsible for warning the pack of danger, Caretaker or the doctor of the pack, and Omegas and Pups. Omegas are usually wolves that have just been kicked out of the pack and joined a new one or is still learning the pack life."Melanie said.

"Wait, learning the pack life...does that mean that I'm-"I started to say.

"No,"said Blake interrupting me. "You have to be a werewolf for you to be an Omega."

"And Pups are just little kids. They get rid of their Pup rank once they gain another one like Hunter, Sentinels, or Scouts. Other than that, to become a Healer you have to go through the regular process, getting a degree but at a college that is aware of Werewolves and you have to practice werewolf medicine for obvious reasons. Anything else you have to work really hard at it to gain the rank of Delta or Beta. Elder you just kinda earn once you're too old to do anything really useful."said Darren sensing the dislike Blake had for me.

I don't know why Blake didn't like me. He just acts so hostile. Everything I do seemed to annoy him. Agitate him, like I was deeply offending him just by existing or something. We walked out of the gym in an exhausted silence. I was exhausted, at least, I wasn't sure about the other three. They looked like they had barely broken a sweat.

When we pulled up to the Pack House I got out and thanked Joshua for driving me home. He pulled out of the driveway once he saw me get to the porch. I waved as they drove off. I pulled out the key my dad had given me before he left me at the gym and started to unlock the door.

Snap.

Spinning around on my heels I looked around wildly, now hyper aware of everything around me. I peered into the darkness. It was almost eight. Quickly turning around, not wanting to be facing away from whatever I thought was lurking in the bushes for long I unlocked the door. In one swift motion I jumped into the house, shut the door behind me, and locked it. I sighed and put my back up against the door sliding down until my butt hit the floor. 'Maybe I could just lay down on the rug by the door and sleep here' I thought tiredly.

No. I got up with a groan and made my way upstairs to my room. Before I walked into my room, I opened up Emily's door quietly. She was passed out on her bed with her toys scattered around her on the floor. I sighed and walked in. Clearing away all the toys and putting them away, I cracked my back and carried Emily's small body to bed. She barely stirred. I tucked her in, walked into my room, and collapsed. It had been a long day.
