Lucia stared out into the desert clutching her stomach in fear. He knew. It terrified her that someone else other than her and Ben knew their little secret. How did he find out? She thought before silently cursing herself. They tried so hard and she was only three months pregnant.
"How long?"
"A few months, almost a year," she responded before turning and looking the boy in the eye. Joel stood before her with his arms crossed and a scowl on his face. His blue eyes stared into hers as fear crept up inside of her.
He scoffed and shook his head looking away from her. "You disgust me. Out of all of these boys, you pick Ben Solo for a husband and a father," he spat at her turning her fear into anger.
"Listen up you piece of shit, Ben is one of the greatest guys I have ever met. I am proud to call him my husband," she spat at him getting a little closer. "And the father of my child. Also, just because I am pregnant does not mean that I can't kick. Your. Ass," she hissed making the boy squirm.
Joel rolled his eyes. "I still can tell Luke. He'd kick you out of the temple," he hissed moving closer to her. If the two of them got any closer their chest would be touching.
Lucia grinned an evil smile, one that had the boy fearing for his life. "Then you'll have two of the most powerful Jedi's after you. Think before you act, Joel," she growled making the boy gulp.
He obviously did not think this through when he decided to threaten her. The boy ran from her with his tail between his legs leaving Lucia to be afraid of herself. She had no idea what came over her as she talked to that boy.
Threatening someone was not in her nature, especially making a boy almost wet himself. The rage and anger that consumed her when she spoke to him, it was like nothing that she ever felt before.
"Lucia!" Ben yelled her name with a big smile as he made his way to his wife. He didn't know the way she was feeling, and she didn't know the way that he was feeling.
Maybe everything could have been avoided if the two of them just talked to each other.
Lucia took a deep breath to steady herself before turning to look at Ben. She didn't even try to throw on a fake smile as he ran up to her.
His bright smile dropped into a frown. "What is wrong?" he questioned her pulling her into a tight hug. To the others a distance away, it looked like two best friends hugging. To Joel, it was two lovers consoling each other.
"He knows, Joel knows. H-h-he's not going to tell Luke because I took care of it, but someone knows, Ben," she rushed out digging her face into his chest.
Rage consumed Ben as he thought about someone cornering his wife. This can all be stopped, just join me, Ben. The young Jedi closed his eyes hearing Snoke's voice in his head. "It will be okay, Lucia. Nothing is going to happen to our family," he whispered into her ear holding her tightly.
He had a choice. To join the dark side and protect his family or to stay on the light side and have the chance of his family dying.
Ben Solo knew what he had to do.
But for now, he just kept Lucia in a hug as she sobbed on his chest. He would give anything to just be able to kiss her right then and there. Soon, Ben Solo, you will be able to.
That night, Lucia's dream played out in full.
Fire. It was everywhere consuming everything. Lucia was running around, her lightsaber in a blaze of blue light as she searched for Ben. She had no idea where he was during all of this but she hoped that he was okay.
"Lucia!" She recognized Joel's voice as he ran towards her. "Run!" He screamed before a lightsaber pierced through his heart. The girl couldn't help the scream that left her lips. As Joel's body fell, it felt like her heart had been ripped through her chest at the sight before her.
It was Ben.
He killed Joel. "Ben! Why would you kill him!" She screamed wondering where Luke was. He should be here right now.
The boy looked at the girl who he promised his life too. "My name is not Ben anymore. It is Kylo Ren," he spat at her before engaging in a lightsaber battle with her.
"Lucia! Come with me! The dark side will give us powers that you could never dream of! It will protect help us protect our child!" Ben told her pausing their lightsaber battle briefly. Her stomach was in pain which told her she needed to get out of there as soon as she could.
Tears refused to stop streaming down at the face of the man she loved. "No! Ben! You can't do this to me! To our family! Stay on the light side with me!" she cried out before clutching her lightsaber tightly. It was hard to fight with a swollen four-month belly and protect your child with it.
"I'm sorry, but you should have decided to come with me," he snarled before raising his lightsaber and striking her down.
Slowly, Lucia opened her eyes with silent tears streaming down her face. Each and every night this dream played over and over in her head. It was completely clear to her what was going to happen.
Her family was going to fall apart.
