Ben Solo knew the whole time where the rebel camp was. Why he never used that knowledge to destroy them was beyond him. Within just a few days, he could have ended this war and kept his title of Kylo Ren. 

Maybe it was because he knew this day was going to come.

The day where he ran back in there begging for his mother's forgiveness. Every single wrong decision he has made led him to this point. And he couldn't wait for the look on his Mothers face.

Ben stalked through the trees watching as the rebels rushed around the camp. The battle was beginning and he had to warn them.

"Ben."

He stiffened at the soft voice from behind him before turning around. Leia was standing there with tears in her eyes as he stepped forward to encase her into a hug.

She began sobbing as she wrapped her arms around him. Ben began stroking her hair as a sign of comfort. The galaxy alined this moment in time and he sent a silent thank you to it. He already killed his father. The last thing he wanted was his Mom dying before his redemption.

"It's Rey. She went after Palpatine," she breathed out wiping her tears away after pulling apart.

"We need to get to her. She's his granddaughter," he said making her gasp. "Do you have a spare ship?"

"No, but you can ride in mine," she stated making him give her an incredulous look. "What? This is my fight too."

He couldn't help the wide smile that blossomed as they walked towards the almost empty area. "This is yours. All this time, she kept it for this moment," Luke commented handing him his old lightsaber.

"Lucia always knew," he cried out clutching his saber tightly. "Let's finish this war."

Leia and Ben quickly zoomed off into the sky, leaving Poe to run up to Luke. "Was that?"

"Yes," Luke said before the boy had any chance of speaking further. "I need you to do something for me. Here is coordinates, go there and pick someone up. They'll be the only one on the island. Get there as fast as you can and meet us at the battle," he informed Poe before shoving him toward the X-Wing.

The young man barely had time to gather his thoughts before Luke had disappeared. He looked down at the writing and sighed before getting into his ship.

Ben began mowing down those he once called allies as his Mom followed beside him. Not once in his lifetime, he thought that he would ever be doing this, but yet here they are.

"We need to get down there," he informed her after they finished off the last of the ground defense. Most of the people were centered into the air. With a quick glance upward, he saw that they had the upper hand. It gave him some hope.

The two of them stalked down, Leia grabbing onto him as the ground fell beneath their feet. He could tell she was a bit wary of the situation, but Uncle Luke would be joining them soon. At least, he hoped anyway.

"Hello, boys." His voice echoed off of the cave walls as he and Leia were swarmed by the Knights of Ren. It was a bit cocky making one of them snarl. The two turned their sabers on, earning the attention of Rey.

On the brink of losing her mind, the blue light was exactly what she needed. Stepping back from Palpatine, she took a deep breath. Ben and Leia joined her, standing in defiance of the dark side.

"The Skywalker family. Once again, you are here to defeat me. This time, you will not succeed," he yelled making the crowd cheer. Ben sucked in a breath, feeling the negative energy coming through the force. "You are pathetic, Ben Solo, forever thinking you would be the best warrior in the galaxy."

Despite how much the comment hurt, he didn't show it. "And you are pathetic for thinking you'll be the ruler of the galaxy," he snarled as Luke made his way through the shadows.

People poured down from the stands making the fight ensue. The three family members mowed down the hidden Sith's as Rey fought Palpatine. Lighting illuminated the area making it clear that they might lose this.

Rey fell to the floor in exhaustion, giving Palpatine enough time to shoot his lighting into the sky. Ben looked up and saw the ships falling, pain shooting across his face. All those people were up there dying because of him.

Without thinking, he raised his hand and shot the force towards Palpatine. It was enough to knock the wind out of him, as well as some of the Sith around them, and stop to allow the ships to right themselves once more. They zoomed across the sky as he looked at his Mom with sad eyes.

"Tell them to retreat. They're going to die if they don't," he softly told her before pulling her into a hug. "This is the end and I am sorry for being the one who started it." Hot tears streamed down his face as she hugged him back.

"Look," Luke said as a ship shot across the sky. It was faster than the others and before he could comment, a green lightsaber ignited.

Poe got the ship as close as he could to the beacon and before he knew it, she jumped off and slice the thing in half before landing on her feet. Finn gasped as she looked up through her brown hair, gave him a wink, and jumped off of the ship.

The Sith's had regrouped and broke the family out of their trance. The female hit the ground running before slaying her way through, cutting of Palpatine's hand. While everyone was distracted, he began taking the life force away from Rey.

She groaned slightly but didn't wake up. Palpatine screamed in pain, making the female smirk as she stood tall.

Ben's heart went through his chest as his body flushed with heat.

"This ends now, Palpatine," she snarled making Ben leave out a breath. This was something he wanted so desperately but didn't understand how it was possible.

Because Lucia Kenobi was standing in front of him, staring down Palpatine completely and fully alive.

Lighting shot towards her making her use the force to keep it back. Lucia was only using one hand as she turned to look at Ben.

"Lucia," he whispered as his throat finally allowed her name to come from his lips. She smirked as blood dripped down from the cut on her head.

"Hey there."
