🥺❤️- KING'S POV -
"A'ishah!" I called out, sifting through the clothes in the laundry hamper with my features curled in disgust at the smell emitting from the basket.
"Yes, babe?" She asked with a huff as she stood at the doorway, one hand placed on her hip, the other resting below her large bump.
I frowned. "I didn't ask you to walk here." I told her, feeling guilty that she had left the bed and walked to the laundry.
"What are you looking for?" She asked, her own adorable features curling up as she watched me empty the clothes in the hamper.
"My black Adidas shorts." I told her. "I'm going to play ball with the boys before Isha." I looked around the mess I had made in the laundry, rushing to throw everything back into the hamper, knowing she would do it if I had left it this way, even if I had told her not to.
We didn't need her tiring herself out no matter how much she tried to convince me she was fine to do housework. Nine months pregnant and housework did not sound like a good combination to me.
"They are folded in your drawer." She told me, turning around and waddling towards our bedroom. I followed behind her, watching her every movement as she pulled the drawer open and sifted through the clothes for a few seconds before taking out exactly what I had been looking for for the past half an hour.
"How do you always do that?" I asked her, plucking them from her hands as I leaned over, pecking her lips to thank her. She smiled against my lips making me pull away and smile back at her. She still, after more than two years, managed to blush at moments like this.
Not that I was complaining.
"I'll be back in a few hours. Don't do anything." I warned, narrowing my eyes slightly. She didn't answer me, simply gazing back at me, a hand resting over her stomach. "A'ishah." I warned. She groaned and stomped to the bed, a little waddle still in her steps making me hold back the tug of my lips.
I'd learnt early on to not laugh at the behaviour of an annoyed and heavily pregnant A'ishah.
"You do not let me do anything." She rolled her eyes, lying down on her back before struggling to breath and turning to her side.
"Exactly." I shrugged simply, taking off my grey joggers and shaking my head as she shut her eyes quickly while I pulled on my basketball shorts instead, tying the drawstrings quickly and tucking them in. "You can look." I told her and she peeped from between her two fingers before moving her hand away from her eyes completely.
"No shirt off." She told me making me laugh loudly. Even her jealousy was cute.
"It depends."
A frown etched onto her face as she pushed her head up to look at me with a raised brow.
"You promise not to do anything until I get back and my shirt stays on throughout the game." I told her. She flushed a deep red in frustration before muttering a quick fine, laying back down.
"Promise." She added.
"Promise." I replied, leaning over to kiss her forehead. "Call me if anything happens." I told her and she nodded, closing her eyes as I rose to my full height. I watched her for a few seconds, her breaths in steady rhythms. She would probably fall asleep soon. Throughout the past few weeks she had been very lethargic all the time. She was a petite woman and I assumed that carrying an almost-full term baby all day was not an easy task.
