- KING'S POV -

I woke up to A'ishah wriggling around in my arms slowly, trying to get out of my hold without waking me.

Clearly, she had failed.

I released a groan of protest and held her tighter.

"King..."

"Stay." I mumbled deeply, sleep evident in my voice.

"I have to use the bathroom." She whispered.

"Hold it." I groaned, not wanting to let go of her just yet.

She giggled and the sound put a lazy smile on my face.

"King, I really, really have to pee."

I grumbled lowly, pulling my arm away, waiting for her to get up before taking her pillow and hugging it instead.

As I slowly began waking up, I remembered the events of last night and shut my eyes tightly. Crap.

I forgot I was mad at her. Granted, none of what happened was actually her fault, but she went with Ayman instead of being on my side when it was clear that I had done nothing wrong.

I sat up in bed, rubbing my forehead.

"Shall I get breakfast ready?" I heard A'ishah ask once she had emerged from the bathroom.

"Sure." I answered simply. There was a brief silence before I heard her retreating footsteps.

She left the room and I took the opportunity to get changed and go downstairs.

I watched her with crossed arms as I sat on the couch. She was so cute with her hair pulled up in a high messy ponytail, wearing white knee-length socks pulled over her tights and a brown knit cardigan that was three sizes too big covering most of her body.

How was it possible for someone to be this beautiful in their natural home state?

"Please do not look at me like that." She mumbled softly.

"Like what?"

"You are annoyed at me and you are looking at me like you can't stand me."

If only she knew the things that were going through my mind at that very moment.

I shook my head. "You know that isn't true." I muttered.

"Okay, well, are we going to talk?" She asked me.

I looked at her. She was wringing her fingers together in front of her looking nervous.

"Come, sit." I said, moving over and patting the empty space next to me.

She obeyed, sitting right beside me.

"I'm not mad at you, A'ishah." I sighed. "I'm just frustrated because what your brother did annoyed me last night."

"I spoke to him, King. He just had something important to open up to me about and he does not want anyone to know for a while."

"He doesn't trust me?" I scoffed.

"King, it is not about trust." She sighed, rubbing her hands over her face.

"Is it about a girl?" I asked slowly.

She nodded. The whole topic was an amanah in itself, but I suppose she knew that Ayman wouldn't mind her telling me in order to keep the peace.

"I can not tell you anything more, it is amanah."
