“Alexis! Get your lazy butt up!” I heard someone yell.

I groaned. “Five more minutes, mom.”

“Mom!? Girl! Get your damn butt up!”

My cheek went up in heat and stinging and pain. I jumped out of bed.

“Who! What! Where!” I looked around the room.

“Girl, you were sleepin’ like the dead. I had to slap you to get you up.” Snow snorted.

I rubbed my cheek. It felt like it was on fire. Damn! That was a hard slap. I got out of bed and headed for the bathroom. I took a quick bath and ran out to the wardrobe to get some clothes. I looked at Snow and got my inspiration for an outfit. Snow-white. White will be my theme. I decided to wear my white, ‘Come to the dark side. We have cookies’ vest, my white, flared, miniskirt and white knee high converse. I put on my silver, studded belt and my black chains. I searched for my tiny, white skull earrings, my white studded collar and my white studded bracelet. I walked back into the bathroom and fixed my major case of bedhead and put some black eyeliner on. I walked back out and Snow said, “You amaze me every time. I had no idea anyone could wear so much white and not look like a ghost.”

I smiled at her. She handed me my schedule and asked, “So what are you gonna do? Dance & Singing or Drama?”

“Well, I wanted to do Dance & Singing but your brother is in Drama and he really wants me to do Drama with him.” I said shyly.

“Oh forget him! Do what your heart tells you too!” She threw her arms up in the air and complained.

“Okay. Fine. I’ll do Dance. Dancing is my passion. Actually, singing is my passion but dance is a close second.”

“You sing?” she raised an eyebrow at me.

“Yeah.”

“Oh you soooooo are gonna sing for me and the rest of the crew. Are you good?”

“I guess.” I shrugged.

“Alright, enough dilly dallying. We gotta hurry or you’re going to be late for your first day.”

She grabbed my hand and dragged me all the way to the kitchen. She threw me a box of Choco Puffs and said, “Quick! Shovel it into your mouth fast and swallow!”

I did as I was told and ate as fast as I could, without choking. After breakfast she dragged me all the way over to the boy’s dorms. We went inside. It wasn’t that different from the girl’s dorms. Just no pink pillows. Snow ran up the stairs to get Shard and the other guys, while I leaned on one of the couches in their living room. I didn’t realize there were any guys in the room until I turned around. They all raised an eyebrow at me. I started to feel uncomfortable, so I walked over to a free TV and turned it on. It was on a show that I haven’t seen in ages. Mind Freak: Chris Angel. I remember when I was younger, I used to say, “One day I’m going to be like him and do all sorts of magic.” I couldn’t help but smile and shake my head. I was such a dreamer back then. I still am, but back then it was so outrageous. I was immersed in the episode. I remember it well. It was the time he walked on water. I loved that episode most. I felt the couch shift a little on my right and my left. I felt some sort of heat behind me. I looked around and found that all the guys that were down stairs in the living room were now surrounding me, looking at the TV. I remember a few of the faces from the ceremony yesterday. I shook my head and focused on the TV. After a few more moments of jaw dropping magic tricks, I heard Shard yell, “Alexis! You sandwiched in there? If you are, come on! We’re gonna be late for our first class of the morning!”
