Elliot smiled as he came into our bedroom, and he laid down next to me. I looked over at him.

"Why are you smiling?" I mused, and he chuckled.

"Charlie. She's trouble." He spoke, and I nodded.

"Just like the rest of our children, she has gotten worse with age." I smiled. But as I thought about his comment, my heart started to ache. My children were growing up quicker than I wanted.

Charlie is our youngest daughter at the age of 5. In the short 5 years since she was born, everything has changed.

"So, Aubrie wants to have lunch with us tomorrow." Elliot spoke as he looked at his phone. I swallowed hard, and wiped a tear from my cheek and nodded.

"Okay, where?" I mused.

"I guess she's bringing lunch to the precinct for us. Big news or something." He spoke, and I nodded slowly.

"Okay."

Elliot turned his phone off, before yawning loudly and moving under the blankets.

"Get some sleep, love." He smiled, before closing his eyes. I sighed and looked down at my hands.

How could he sleep so easily when so much is changing?

My morning was the same as always. I woke up and showered before going downstairs and making coffee. Then Elliot made breakfast and I got the kids up, but they weren't kids anymore. They were growing up so quickly.

My first stop was to Noah's room, because he too so freaking long to wake up. He was graduating this year, and just like his 18 year old sisters, it made me want to go back to when they were babies.

"Noah, time to get up baby." I spoke, and he continued to snore. I rolled my eyes before walking over and turning on his bedside table lamp. He covered his head with his pillow, and started to groan as I opened the blinds and then turned on the room light.

"Mom, go away." He spoke, and I laughed.

"Yeah right, Noah. Get up and shower. If not, I'll take the car." I spoke, and he rolled over and looked at me.

"You wouldn't."

"I would. I'll let Josie have it tonight instead." I smiled, and he got up to shower, while I left the room.

The next stop was into Kora and Charlie's room. I opened the door slowly, and saw Kora already sitting up and a book in her hand. Charlie was still sleeping, her mess of brown curls like a halo around her head.

"Kora, why don't you get ready." I spoke, and she nodded. I was really scared when it came to Kora. She is almost 15, and I don't want the little girl I lost to leave me again so soon. Three more years until she graduates.

"Can I go to the library after school? I have to help one of my friends with her essay."

"What friend?" I asked, as I walked over and gently ran my hand over Charlie's dark brown curls.

"Dakota." She spoke, and I nodded slowly.

"Alright, but I'm sending Noah to pick you up after he gets out of football."

"Yes, mother." She spoke, absently. She went and picked out her outfit for the day and I frowned.

"Charlotte, you gotta wake up." I smiled, and her eyes flutter open slowly, before she reached her arms up to me. I sat down and pulled her onto my lap and rocked her slowly in my arms.

"Are you ready for school, princess?" I mused.

"Yes, Mommy." She yawned, as she laid her head against my chest and closed her eyes.

"Charlie, go to my bathroom with Kora and start brushing your teeth."

I went back downstairs after waking up all of my kids, and Elliot had the eggs and toast on the table. I grabbed a few cups and started to fill them with orange juice and sat them on the table.

"So who is getting the car tonight?" Elliot asked, and I sighed.

"Noah is."

"Okay, so one of us have to pick up the kids then after school." He spoke, and I shook my head.

"Kora is going to the library and Noah is picking her up after football. Then James, Charlie, Al, and Josie are going to Serena's before dinner."

"Ah, Friday night dinner. Fun." Elliot replied, and I laughed.

"You like it because you can talk to my dad." I smiled. He walked over and kissed me before taking the orange juice back to the fridge, and the kids started to spill into the room.

James was walking especially slow, and I walked over and kissed the top of his head, before placing my hand to his forehead.

"Go back to bed. I'll call Lucy." I spoke, and he groaned before leaving the room.

"How is he still sick?" Alison asked, as she tossed a long piece of blue hair over her shoulder.

"It's just a fever, and like this whole week, wash your hands."

Elliot and I worked till lunch, before our eldest daughter came into the squad room, a smile on her face.

"Brie!" I exclaimed, before walking towards her, and she smiled as I hugged her.

"Hey, Mom! Ready for lunch?" She asked, and I nodded, as Elliot came up and hugged her.

"If she isn't, I'll have her share."

We walked upstairs and sat together at a small table, and started to eat, when she spoke.

"So, I'm engaged." She spoke, and I dropped my sandwich, and looked at my daughter.

"You're what?" I asked, and she slowly pulled a box from her purse and showed it to me as she smiled.

"I've been seeing a guy. He's really nice and he loves Ollie. I love him too." She smiled, but it faded when she saw our faces darken with frowns.

"Aubrie, you're only 24. You have a 7 year old. Do you want to marry some guy who we don't even know? Who didn't even ask your father's permission to marry you?" I asked, my voice shaking.

"Mom, I'm an adult, and I love him. I want to marry him, and I kinda don't have a choice." She laughed, bitterly.

My eyes went wide, and I stood slowly, my legs shaking.

"You're pregnant, and this is a last ditch attempt." I frowned, before turning and walking down the stairs. Elliot swore and followed behind me.

Once we hit the bottom floor, Cragen called me into his office.

"Captain, can this wait?" I asked, as I walked in.

"No, it isn't. I want you to do something for me." He spoke, and I sighed.

"Okay?" I questioned, my voice very unsure.

"Take the Sergeants exam with Elliot."
