Several times that night Josie would start seizing. I stayed there the whole night after sending Elliot and Alison home, and it was driving me nuts. I didn't like not being able to help her.

At around 8 the next morning, Noah showed up and handed me a cup of coffee.

"Hey, Mom." He spoke, as he leaned over and kissed my cheek softly.

"Hey, Noah. How are you, love?" I questioned slowly.

"I'm okay. I saw Alison last night, and now I'm here to see Josie." He spoke, as I leaned back and took a drink from the cup.

"Well, they were taking her down to get an MRI. Maybe an hour or so before they said we could see her."

"Are you okay, Mom?" Noah questioned, and I nodded slowly.

"I'm fine, baby. Don't worry about me. How has training been going? Having fun?" I questioned, and he smiled.

"Yeah. I really like everything I've been doing over there. I just hope that I get to come home before they send me out."

"Deployment?" I questioned slowly.

"Yeah. They want to send me out onto a ship in a bit. A lot of newbies are going. It'll be a couple of months than I'll be back home. I promise." He sighed.

"Just be safe if you leave, okay? Don't make enemies. Just be respectful and understanding. I love you too much to lose you, baby."

"Such a mother." He teased, before I elbowed him in his side. I reached over and gently ran my hand over his shoulders.

"Did your father send you to watch me?" I asked, and Noah nodded.

"Why wouldn't he?"

"Hey, Jos. Someone is here to see you." I smiled softly, as I walked into Josie's hospital room. She yawned loudly, but then smiled when she saw Noah.

"Hey, Noah. When did you get home from basic?" She questioned, and my eyes went wide.

"Uh-" Noah started, but I leaned into him and spoke.

"Go along with it. I'll be back." I spoke, and he nodded slowly before I left the room. I looked down both sides of the hall, before walking to the nurses station. I cleared my throat and waited for a nurse to respond.

"May I help you?" One asked.

"I'm Mrs. Stabler, Josie Stabler's mother. Do you know where her doctor is? I have some questions." I spoke, and she sighed.

"She is currently in surgery. Can I help answer any of those questions?" She replied.

"Well, my daughter doesn't remember a lot of stuff. She just asked my son when he got back from basic training, and it's been months since he came home from basic." I spoke, and she nodded slowly.

"I'll page her and see if she is going to be done soon. Once she is, I'll send her in."

I walked away from the nurses station, and pulled my cell out to call Elliot.

After awhile Elliot came up to talk to me in person. The doctor was still in surgery so I needed to voice my worries to someone, and he is the best person to.

"Hey, baby." Elliot spoke, as he walked towards me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my lips softly, before hugging me.

"Hey, uh, so I have something I really need to talk to you about." I breathed, and his eyes already started to fill with tears.

"Babe, what's wrong?" He whispered.

"Josie seems to have lost all memory from these past several months. She asked when Noah got back from basic training."

"Shit." Elliot spoke as he ran is fingers through his hair, before shaking his head.

"Elliot, what are we going to do if we find out she lost more memories? We can't just take her out of college, because she loves that."

"Baby, let me go talk to her. Maybe she is just messing around. Whenever Noah is around Josie, they are always joking around." Elliot spoke, as he grasped at anything that could prove our daughter still remembered.

"But this wasn't her joking, Elliot." I whispered, and he shook his head as he started to pace.

"Liv, she lost her parents, and now she lost her memories for the past several months. What if there is more she lost? Huh? What if she doesn't remember her biological parents, or anything else?"

Elliot pushed me away when I went to comfort him, so when he ran out, I stayed put and leaned my head against the wall.

"Josie, what is the last thing you remember?" Dr. Kase questioned, and Josie ran her hands over her face and groaned.

"I don't know. I remember Noah going off to basic training, but I don't remember other things."

"Do you remember when your parents adopted you?" She questioned, and Josie's eyes went wide.

"I'm adopted?" She questioned, and I frowned deeply as I turned around and looked out the window. I could see Elliot sitting in his car still, but when I told him the doctor was going to talk to Josie, he refused to come back up.

"Mom! I'm adopted?!" Josie exclaimed, and I continued to frown as I turned around.

"Baby, do you not remember your parents? What happened to them? Why your father and I adopted you?" I questioned, and she shook her head as tears poured down her cheeks.

"Mom, I'm not your daughter?" She started to sob, and it took everything I had to not start crying.

I walked over and sat down next to her, before pulling her close as she sobbed. The doctor left quietly, and I started to caress Josie's hair.

"Please tell me." She sniffled.

"Josie, you are my daughter. I adopted you, yes, but you are my daughter. Something happened to your parents several years ago, and you needed a family. We adopted you. We have been raising you ever since."

"Mom, why can't I remember?" She sobbed into my shoulder as I held her close.

"I don't know, love. The doctor will figure this out. She'll have you back to normal in no time. You can go back to college soon, and be back to your old self."
