Awhile after Kora was admitted, the suit against me was dropped when Dakota's parents found out about Kora, and how broken she was. They explained it to the judge who was ruling over it, and said that this lawsuit was causing more troubles for the girl who loved their daughter, and that they were done. They couldn't see Kora go through anymore, and having to watch her own mother get sued, must be hard for her.
Elliot started to count down the days till Kora would come back home, and before we knew it, Aubrie had her baby, which ended up being a girl. It killed Kora when we called her and told her that she was an Aunt again to a niece, but I assured her that if she got help, she'd be around forever for her niece.
"Meredith?" Alison questioned quietly, as she rocked her niece in her arms, shortly after she was born. I was sitting next to Aubrie, who was barely awake, but still had a smile plastered on her face.
"Yeah. I really like it, and so does Greg. It's old fashioned, and I really like it."
"Not as old fashioned as like Martha or Beverly." I teased, and my daughter laughed slightly.
"Those were out from the start, Mom. But isn't she amazing?" She questioned, and I nodded.
"She's beautiful. And that hair is so red." I grinned, before kissing the top of her head. Alison sighed as she looked down at Meredith, and then smiled.
"I can't wait to have kids." She breathed, and I looked at her with wide eyes.
"In about ten years, right? When you are 28, and have a husband, a good job, and a house? Not like living in my basement and sleeping on my couch..." I trailed off, and she shrugged.
"You never know."
Alison stood up and I replaced her spot in the chair, and my grand daughter was placed in my arms. I leaned down and kissed her forehead softly, and smiled.
Even though all of this pain and suffering, amazing things, amazing people, still end up coming to our family and making amazing differences.

"So, I heard that the results are in." Amanda spoke, as I walked in and sat down at my desk. I looked up at her and yawned.
"I was at the hospital till nearly 11 last night, because Aubrie had her baby. So please explain more about these results you are talking about."
"What did she have?!" She exclaimed, and I laughed.
"A girl, Meredith Bernadette Serena Shepard." I beamed.
"That's amazing! I know that she was worried about having a boy, because she didn't want to start getting over run." She grinned.
"It's nice to know you discuss topics like that with my daughter. Now, results?"
"Your Sergeant exam!" She exclaimed, and my eyes went wide.
"Oh god. Uh, I don't even want to know." I replied quickly, and she eyed me.
"What? You worked so hard on that!" She exclaimed.
"I've been stressed, and I really doubt I passed it. Elliot probably aced it, and then I probably managed to failed it with negative points."
"I really doubt that Liv! I bet you passed!" She exclaimed again, but this time she smiled, as she tried to convince me.
"Okay, I'll check it once Elliot gets here." I replied slowly, because I was nervous. I didn't want to find out that I failed it, and I would be sitting back as my husband moved up the ranks, and I'd be here as a plain old detective forever.
I stood up and went to get a cup of coffee, and I kept standing over there, pretending to do anything to help with the waiting process. Can't Elliot just show up?

When Elliot showed up, we had out ID numbers set out, and he sat at his desk and scrolled through the many numbers. Everyone was standing around us, wondering if we passed, but honestly, I didn't think I'd pass.
"There's my number." Elliot grinned, and Fin clapped him on the shoulder, while I nervously continued to stand by.
"There isn't a lot more to go through." I breathed, and Amanda placed her hand on my back and smiled.
"You are probably at the bottom, like they knew you'd be anxious." She chuckled, and I swallowed hard.
It got to the point where I just walked away. Elliot would tell me if he found my number, but he probably wouldn't. I bombed it because of everything happening, and everything was too overwhelming for me to concentrate.
"Olivia." Elliot spoke, as he walked into the locker room. I sighed as I looked at him.
"How long do I have to wait to retake the test?" I mused, as he walked over and sat down next to me.
"You left right before I saw your number. You passed baby." Elliot spoke, and I was surprised at how loud I squealed, as I jumped up and ran pulled my husband to his feet. We hugged and he rubbed my back, as a smile grew on my lips.

Instead of going out to dinner that night to celebrate, we took dinner and our kids to the hospital, because Aubrie said she didn't want to be left out. It was nice to have our family together, minus Kora. But I knew tonight when we talked, she'd be excited.
"Kora Stabler." I spoke into the phone, as I sat on the back deck of our house, and waited for the hospital to connect me to Kora's room.
"Momma?" Kora questioned, and I smiled.
"Hey, baby!" I exclaimed.
"I miss you. Can I come home early?" Kora questioned, and I frowned.
"Kora, baby, you only have three more weeks. Then I'll come up and get you in time for Charlie's birthday. You're going to be her favorite gift." I smiled.
"I miss every single one of my annoying siblings. I miss my bed, and my friends. I'm doing better, but the pain and loneliness of being here is getting to me."
"Being away from you drives us nuts too, Kora. But once you get out, everything will be better."
"Tell me something to get my mind off of this." She replied, slowly.
"Your father and I passed our Sergeant exams. You'll be back in time to see the ceremony."
"That's amazing Mom! Can you tell me about something else?"
"What else?" I chuckled.
"Meredith. I want to know everything about my niece. I know she is just a day old, but I need to know."
I spent an hour talking to my daughter about Meredith, and her other siblings. I told her how the suit was dropped, and how once she was out, if her therapist told her it was okay, she could go and see Dakota's grave, and give her the proper goodbye that she wants.
Maybe closure will help.
