Greg tensed up, as Aubrie turned around, and smiled at Elliot.
"Hi, Dad!" She spoke, but even her excitement wasn't going to make my husband hate Greg anymore than he hates him right now.
"Aubrie, introduce them." I breathed gently, and Aubrie nodded slowly, before Greg and herself moved closer to me. Like, I'm not going to be able to protect them if Elliot gets violent.
"Daddy, this is my fiance, Greg Shepard. Greg, this is my father, Elliot Stabler." Aubrie spoke, and Greg reached a shaky hand out to Elliot, but Elliot shook his head.
"You're coming with me, and you'll be explaining yourself. Follow." Elliot spoke, harshly. I swallowed hard and grabbed Aubrie's arm, as Elliot walked towards the backyard where Ron was. Something was happening, and it needed to happen.
"Mom, let me go after them!" She exclaimed, and I saw the fear on her face.
"Love, your father isn't going to kill him. He'd never do that to you." I whispered, and she swallowed hard.
"Can I at least watch from a window?" She mused, and I pulled her into a hug as I smiled.
"I guess."

I'm pretty sure that Elliot and Ron had put the fear of god into Greg. He was a lot more timid now than he had been, but as we talked and joked around, and when Elliot even started to joke around, he started to warm up to us. He started to join in, and I could tell it made my daughter happy. Since we were starting to accept her fiance.
We left James and Charlotte with my parents that night, but the older four wanted to go home with us. Kora seemed distant, and it made me nervous, but I was determined to get whatever was bothering her out into the open.
We got home and Elliot went downstairs with Noah to watch the sports game they recorded, which I still don't know which one, and Alison and Josie went into their room to paint, and I went to check on Kora. My excuse to entering her room was that I had to put laundry away.
I knocked on her door, and she came and opened it.
"Hi, Mother." She smiled, and I smiled back.
"Hey, Kora. Mind if I put some of this away?" I asked, and she shrugged.
"I guess, I'm just doing homework."
"Why?" I laughed, and she sighed.
"Because I was invited to a party tomorrow." She spoke, and I eyed her.
"Were you going to ask me and your father?" I mused, and she shrugged.
"I don't even know if I want to go." She spoke quietly, as she sat back down and pulled her binder onto her lap, and started to draw random shapes on her page.
"Why not, Kora?" I mused.
"Because I'm scared." She replied, and I frowned. I sat the basket down before walking over and sitting next to her. I tucked some of her hair behind her ear, and she leaned into my hand. I caressed her cheek as we sat in silence.
"Kora, wanna tell me why you're scared?" I asked, and she shook her head.
"No. Because I don't want you to be disappointed in me for what I'm feeling."
"I could never be disappointed of you, Kora. We can't help what we feel."
"I like Dakota." She whispered, and I could see that she thought that I would be disappointed and ashamed of my daughter. She was fearful that I would kick her out because she liked another girl.
"Why were you scared to tell me?"
"Because we are Catholics, and I'm supposed to have feelings towards a man." She croaked, and I sat her binder down before pulling her into my arms and held her close. She sobbed, and I kissed her brown curls gently.
"Kora, I don't care what religion we believe in, because you are my daughter, and I'll support you through everything."
"What about Dad? Grandma Bernie and Grandpa Joseph?" She asked, her voice shaking. She'd be heart broken if they disapproved.
"I'll test the waters with your father. I'm sure that everything will turn out alright, love."

Elliot climbed into bed later than I had, but I was still awake and thinking about how horrible my daughter felt because she was ashamed of her feelings.
"Why are you still up?" Elliot asked, as I sat up, took the hair tie out of my hair, and dropped it onto the bedside table.
"Because I need to ask you something..." I trailed off.
"Okay, sounds good. Now, speak love." He spoke, and I nodded slowly.
"Uh, if one of our kids said they liked a person of the same gender as them?" I asked, and he shrugged.
"I don't know. It wouldn't even really bother me, I guess."
"You guess?" I questioned, and he nodded.
"Yeah. As long as they aren't doing anything illegal, I'm fine with most of the stuff the kids do." He replied.
"Good." I breathed.
"Which one of our kids is having these feelings?" He asked.
"I'm not at liberty to say. They will tell you when they are ready."

Kora seemed happier the next morning, and I was thinking its because she had finally got her worries off her chest. Now she just had to worry about telling everyone else.
"When are you going to tell them?" I asked, as she stood at the counter and was mixing cookie batter.
"I think this Sunday." She replied, and I nodded slowly, but was still nervous about her announcing it after church.
"I asked your father about it." I breathed, and she looked at me, wide eyed.
"Mom, did you tell him?" She asked, hopelessly.
"No, I didn't. But he said he wouldn't be upset about it. As long as you decide to be a law abiding citizen, we have no issue." I spoke, and she nodded slowly.
"I love you, Mom. Thanks for being here for me. It means a lot." She whispered, and I wrapped my arms around her and hugged her.
"I love you too. I'm here for you no matter what."
