Chapter 4

Indy's POV

I finish writing my name and fold the paper in half, placing it in the box at the front of the class room. I sit back down at my seat impatiently waiting for everyone to finish.

"I'm going to pull out 2 random names at a time. Whoever's name you are called out with, will be your partner for this assignment." our chemistry teacher spoke.

I look over at Harry who gave me a hopeful smile, before turning my attention back to the front of the class room.

"Rose Martin and Stella Young." he calls, pulling the first 2 names out of the box.

"Indiana Holmes and..."

Please be Harry, please be Harry.

"Hannah Gruen." He finishes, reading the paper he had picked, following after mine.

Ugh.

Of all people, why did it have to be her? She was the last person I wanted to go with. I turn to face her and she gave me a knowing smirk as I rolled my eyes.

Mr Clarke continued to read out the names, but I was yet to hear Harry's been called.

"And that leaves us with the final 2. Harry Styles and... Madison Vance." He spoke emptying the last two slips of paper from the box.

I nearly choke.

Madison? Of course her and Harry were put together. I mean, it's not that I care or anything... I'm just disappointed that I'm not with Harry.

"Jealous?" Hannah spoke, suddenly sitting next to me. She must've have moved over after our names got read out together.

"Excuse me?" I ask, turning to face her.

"Oh come on Indy don't play dumb. I know I'd be jealous if my boyfriend got put with her. I mean look at her, she's perfect." She adds smugly.

"Harry is not my boyfriend!" I protest, lowering my voice to a whisper so no one would hear.

"And no, I am not jealous." I reply flatly, although part of me knew that wasn't 100% true. As much as I try to deny it, I can't help but feel the slightest hint of jealousy, for whatever reason.

"Whatever." She simply replies, shrugging her shoulders.

It hasn't even been 5 minutes and I'm already sick of having Hannah as my Chemistry partner. This is going to be fun...

* * *

"So you're with Hannah huh?" Harry asks stealing a chip from the packet in my hands.

I threw my head back and groaned at the thought.

"Unfortunately." I reply, rolling my eyes.

Harry chuckles and grabs another handful of chips. He really needs to buy his own food.

"I wish I could've been your partner." He pouts.

"Me too." I mumble quietly, remembering who Harry had been put with.

"I guess you're glad you got Madison though, right?" I ask, trying not to sound to disappointed.

"I guess." He shruggs. "But I still would have preferred being with you." He adds poking me playfully and giving me smile.

"I would rather be with me too." I joke, flicking a piece of hair behind my shoulder.

"You're so full of yourself Holmes." Harry teases, mocking the words I often use towards him.

I smack him on the arm playfully -which I had almost become a habit now- as I snatch the chip out of his hand throwing it into my mouth.

"Hey! I was going to eat that!" Harry whines, pouting his lips and crossing his arms over his chest like a 5 year old would.

"Buy your own chips!" I protest trying to move the packet away from his reach, but failings miserably . He snatches the packet out of my hand and stands up, holding the packet high in the air. I try jumping for it, but he's far to tall.

"Now, what do you say?" Harry asks, that stupid smirk of his crawling onto his lips.

"Harry!" I whine, rolling my eyes.

"Do you want them back or not?" I knew he wasn't going to give them to me unless I did as he said.

"Fine. Please can I have my chips back?" I say, drawing out the please.

"Of course." He smirks, lowering his arm to give me the packet.

"That wasn't so hard was it now?" He teases, patting me on the head.

"Harry, I'm not 5." I complain crossing my arms over my chest.

"Wait... You're not?" He asks sarcastically, acting surprised.

"Harry!" I groan, rolling my eyes.

"Okay, okay! Sorry!" He laughs raising his arms in self defence.

The bell rang signalling the end of lunch and I grabbed my bag, flinging it over my shoulder.

"I'll see you after school." I smile, turning to face Harry.

"Oh um, actually Madison and I are meeting after school to discuss the assignment." He replies quietly, scratching the back of his neck.

"Oh." Was all I manage to say.

"Sorry Inds, I'll make it up to you I promise." He says sympathetically, pulling me into a tight hug.

"It's fine, honestly. No big deal." I smile into his chest before pulling away.

"How about I take you out tomorrow?" He asks. "You know, to make up for it. Not like a date or anything because that would just be weir-"

"Harry, it's fine." I cut him off, stifling a laugh.

"So Nando's? Tomorrow at 7?" He asks looking up from his hands.

"7 it is." I nod. He was pulling the Nando's card. What can I say? It worked every time.

"Then it's settled." He laughs reaching out his for me to shake, like we were agreeing to a deal.

"It is." I laugh back, shaking Harry's hand.

"Well, we'd better head off to class before we're late." I frown.

Harry nods and we both turned around, heading our separate ways towards our next classes.

I had only been walking for about 10 seconds or so, when a voice called out my name,

"Indy, wait!" I turn around to see a head of familiar dark curls and a pair of deep green eyes piercing into my own.

"I, uh..." Harry scratched the back of his neck nervously looking down at his shoes.

"Never mind." He says, as he turns around and heads back towards his class.

Well that was weird...
