Chapter 2

I walk into school, with my new book bag and my attention draws to the teacher with a whistle around his neck.

"Tryouts for baseball today! Hey you!"
"Me?"
"Yes. Have you done baseball for Hyatt county?"
"Um yeah, I've moved schools in 7th."
"Well I've seen you play, and I can tell you have potential, but your weak on bat."
"Thanks, I'll definitely try out."
"If it works out it can be a great chance for you to make friends."
"Yea I guess."

The lady in the front was handing out schedules, flyers for sports and team banquets. I grabbed the schedule that said my name, and a flyer for when baseball tryouts were.

"Excuse me? Hello?"

I was trying to get a adult to show me where my classes for 8th grade was. I'm new, and being the new boy is difficult.

"Oh sorry Mr. What do you need?"
"Um, can you show me where these are?"
"Well go together. And sure!"

She guided me through hallways of blue lockers. She pointed to my first classroom.

"Is this it?"
"Yep! And the teacher will guide you through the rest of the day."
"Will she tell me where the baseball field is?"
"Maybe. You'll just have to wait and see."

I walked in, and I was apparently late. The door was locked so this girl came and opened it. The teacher said:

"Thanks Autumn. Oh looks like we have another student! What's your name young man?"
"Um Taylor?"
"Oh yes, your the one that switched schools."
"Yep, that's me."

I used my best language. Sarcasm.

"Please sit down next to Autumn."
"Yes ma'am."

As I sat down next to Autumn I saw her make room for me.

"So your Taylor? I'm Autumn."
"Yea I kinda noticed."
"You know? Your funny."
"Really? Hah, I've never been told that before. So what do you like to do?"
"Uh, pretty much softball. I'm on the team. What bout' you?"
"Uh uh..."
"Taylor?"
