Chapter 25

"Nurse he's awake. Hey Taylor. Feeling better? Or just sleep that's okay too."

I could barely speak. gosh I'm weak. I turned on my side and saw my family praying in the corner. It was just my dad like always, then Autumn's mom with her husband. I tried to snap to get their attention but no noise came out of it. So I used the watery bottle and crushed it.

"Taylor? Son, we thought you didn't make it through the surgery. I almost didn't make it."
"Dad..." I mouthed.
"The nurse said drink some apple juice until you get your strength back. You know you sleep a lot boy!"

I smiled through tough skin. It was tight on the side of my head. They must of done surgery there. When in the world did they do that? Can I not keep up with time!?!?
I slurped the apple juice down and I saw the door open with the doctor.

"You need to go to the waiting room guys I have to do some last tests on him."

Last tests? He sat down to the computer to the next of me almost spilling my apple juice. That man. He looked at me kinda rapist like and I would just lay on my back preparing for when I'm in my grave. The way I'm headed might as well.

"Okay Mr. Taylor, your getting to go home tomorrow and going to have to skip the rest of college cause your eyes might be blurry, you might have 'shutdowns' or just plain freak out.

"Freak out?" I coughed.
"Yes, tantrums even."
"Have I.... Had one?" I breathed through each separate part.
"No but that doesn't mean you won't. But don't bet on that you will have it. It's just a thought. You've been here for about half a year trying to recover from this. You had a concussion so bad a lot of people thought you were dead every time you passed out."
"Oh gosh...when's the last time I used the restroom?"
"Ha, you don't wanna know."
"Can I use the restroom?"
"If you can get up. But the nurses can help you."
"No! I'm good."

My energy felt like it was all in my legs! I couldn't possibly not make it to the restroom only about five feet away.
I leaned over on my side and flipped onto the floor. My hair fell over my eyes and I looked like a monkey trying to get over there.
I opened the door and closed it looking back at the doctor just watching me. He was laughing! So I just shut the door. I looked in the mirror considering I haven't seen myself in about more than half a year. I looked like a hippy that was hit by a bus. My head was blue on the side, I was scruffy, and my hair was long. So this is what I call a hippy. Ew.

"Taylor? You okay?"
"Yes! Doctor yes!"
"Well okay then."

I got out of the restroom and I opened the door and the doctor was right there fixing to open the latch.

"What do you think your doing?"
"Oh fixing to check on you."
"Opening the door!?!?"
"Yes. You could be passed out."
"If I was talking I think I would be awake creep!"

I ran into the hallway and I spotted Autumn sleeping in the chair right outside the door.

"Hey is this seat taken?"
"Taylor oh my gosh! You look... Good."
"Yea I described it as my inner self."
"Your inner self? Ha, wait why are you out here?"
"The doctor is trying to rape me I know it!"
"Oh my gosh taylor."
"So they said I get to go home today."
"Really! Thank goodness I don't have to live here anymore."
"Live?"
"I have all my stuff right in that closet. Don't tell anyone."
"Oh okay."
"Let's go."
"Yep! And I'm going to clean up while you go unpack your janitor closet clothes."
"Okay. Let go of the inner hippy for me okay?"
"Yeah. I'll have the outer me show."

We held hands on the way out and I didn't even realize I still had the robe on. Crap.
