Chapter 5

Second day of school, and it's feeling good. I enter the class room ready to start a conversation with Autumn and I notice she's not here.

"Hey Clark where's Autumn?"
"Why you in love?"
"WHAT? no... No."

Smith butts in:

"Yea Taylor!"
"I'm just asking."
"By the way she moved seats for the day because David got in trouble and wasn't aloud to sit with his friend. Rebecca is going to sit there today. Whoever that is."
"Oh where is she? Oh AUTUMN!"

She turned around, and I came to a conclusion that age moved all the way to the other end of the classroom. Well that's just great.
Rebecca came and sat down with her bag almost sitting in the same place that Autumn keeps hers.

Clark interrupted my hello.

"Hey I'm Clark! Nice to meet cha'!"
"Um hey? I'm Rebecca."
"That's a cool name. I mean it's a name... What I mean..."
"It's okay. So what exactly are we doing? I'm lost."
"We're just learning algebra."
"Oh that explains it. Are you good at algebra?"
"Yea I actually interpret baseball with it."
"Oh you do baseball? I do softball. I'm new though so I'm not that good. Maybe you can teach me some time."
"Yea definitely. Hey come by today after school at the practice field."
"I'll be there anyway I have practice a today too."

There sure hitting it off. Wait... If they have softball then I will see Autumn play! Yes a chance to flirt, or embarrass myself in front of two teams of larksville city schools.

After school we headed to the batting cadges where the lockers are. I didn't even notice that right in front of ours is the softball bating cages. I spot Autumn and Rebecca talking to three other girls.

"Clark? You gonna' make a move bro?"
"Not if you do."
"Oh trust me, I don't have the guts."

He walked out to the softball team's cage. I followed him wanting to get into some drama for some reason. I over heard these words:

"So you wanna borrow one of my bats? Your bats are kinda soft."
"Would the coach mind?"
"Nah, if he does I'll punch em'"
"Well that's nice to know."

She grabbed his hand with one hand and the other hand was pushing down on one shoulder lowering him down so she could reach his check. She plopped one on him, and his glasses came falling down. They hit the grass which showed the blush of his checks even more. He had the girl.

"BOYS! Out of the softball cage!"

She whispered something into his ear. He giggled and took her by the hand.

"Dude! What was that? Hah, your a ladies man Clark!"
"Yea Taylor and I didn't only get her, she's got me."
