Jonah Marais' P.O.V.

I looked at Soleia, smiling as she laughed. My heart instantly picked up its pace, beating faster.Wait, what? What's happening?

"So one night, I was babysitting my 2 year old nephew, Maverick, and there was a half moon in the sky. He looks up at the sky and says, "moon broken." Then a week later I was babysitting him again and there was a full moon in the sky. Maverick looks at the sky, then at me, and says, "moon fixed now."" She said, laughing. I smiled, loving the way that she's happy. I laughed along as well, looking at her laughing figure. A guy walked over to us, leather jacket and all. He kept on talking to Andy and trying to flirt with her. Anger boiled inside of me but I can feel something else too. Out of nowhere, Leia spoke, "Uh...excuse me, can you not? You're just gonna come over here, assuming you can flirt with me and ask me out? Well news flash, bud. I just don't say yes to a guy cause they want me to. You probably just want to get in my pants. So fuck off." She looked him up and down, "And pull up your god damn pants. Nobody wants to see your boxers. Nasty bitch. You think you look tough. No you look stupid as hell."

The guy just smirked, cocking his head, "Are you sure you don't want me?"

This guy

"Look, man. Why don't you just fuck off? You know you're not wanted and you're still trying to flirt with her." I said, gritting my teeth.

"Do you know what a belt is? Here let me spell it out for you. B-E-L-T. Go buy one." She handed him a phone number on a slip of paper and he left. Leia snickered, "I gave him the phone number for Walmart."

I tried to laugh but I couldn't find it in myself. I felt jealous and I couldn't help it. Leia looked at me worry written all over her face, "What's wrong?"

When I didn't answer, she grabbed my hands from across the table and gently rubbed her thumbs on the back of my hand. I sighed, "Nothing. Let's just get out of here. That dude's a buzzkill."

I quickly, but gently, pulled her so that we can go to my car. I started the engine, driving off to God knows where. She sat on the passenger's seat quietly, making me rethink of my actions.

"Look, I'm sorry." I said, taking a turn.

"It's okay..." She replied, though I'm not really convinced. I parked at the park, looking at her, "Let's go."

What can I do to lighten the mood?

"I don't know... I'm kind of tired." She said, then sighed. She unbuckled her belt and got out, "Nevermind. Let's go."

I rushed after her, "We can go home if you're tired."

"It's okay." I usher her to the swing.

"Here." I said, gesturing to the swing. She sat down on the swing and looked up at me, "Why are you so freaking tall?"

I looked at her as she giggled. Her height probably being only 4'0. I just chuckled, "I just am."

She giggled again and God, I love that giggle. I smiled, lightly pushing her. The swing started to move and the breeze started to play with her hair. She laughed, making my heart flutter.

"Okay. It's your turn." She said, stopping the swing. I shook my head, "No, it's okay, lov– what a lovely sunset." I almost slipped. Was I gonna call her love?

"Oh, come on." She got off the swing, "Sit."

I laughed, "No. It's, I don't know, not very gentleman like if you're the one standing."

"Jonah Marais Roth Frantzich, I said sit."

"Woah, chill, mom." I quickly sat down, chills running down my spine as she used my full name. She laughed, "You're funny."

"And you're adorable." I slipped. I scoffed, rolling my eyes to pretend that it was sarcasm. She tried to push me on the swing, but due to her height and me being heavier than her, there was no progress. I laughed, "Adorable."

She crossed her arms, being all angry. I couldn't help but chuckle because it just made her look cuter. Out of nowhere, I pulled her onto my lap and hugged her close. I stayed sitting on the swing as I hug her, my face buried on the crook of her neck. She hugged back with her legs on each of my side, her arms around my midsection. "I could stay like this forever."

I felt her smiling and I gathered up all the courage in me to speak, "Soleia."

"Yeah, Jonah?"

Say it, Jonah. Just say it.

"I think I like you."

"I like you too."

My eyes widen as I pulled back from the hug, "Really?"

"Yes. Really." She smiled making me smile as well. My heart pumped so fast I was getting an adrenaline rush. Without even thinking, I pulled her towards me and placed my lips on hers. I thought doing this was a mistake until she kissed back. Relief flooded inside me as our lips moved in sync. Once we pulled away, I quickly asked her the words I've been wanting to say, "Will you be mine?"

She nodded and I pulled her back in for another kiss. I finally got the girl of my dreams.
