Outside was a whole mob of people. Cameras flashing, shouting. Reporters with microphones trying to get me to talk. They were yelling, screaming, and it was killing my ears. I was panicking. Hyperventilating. My vision was going black at the edges. Jen was yelling, I was turning in circles, my head hurt and my ears rang. Then, I slipped into blackness.
I woke up on the couch in a large room with a big fireplace. Jennifer's house was huge. It was a brick square, old fashioned with shutters on the outside but on the inside, it was completely modern. A giant flatscreen tv was in front of me. I guessed by the large book shelfs it was the living room. I couldn't see anyone. A sat up and had to hold back tears, my head throbbed. I felt my forehead and realized it was burning hot. My throat was parched.
"Jen," I croaked. Jen came bustling into the room, she had an apron on and was carrying and plate with a hamburger on it. I hadn't realized how hungry I was until now. Jen smiled.
"Oh goody your awake, I just finished making your lunch!" I nodded gratefully taking the plate. Jen left and came back a couple minutes later carrying a glass of water and grilled cheese. She handed the water to me and sat down next to me with a coke. She took a huge bite of grilled cheese, making me laugh, which then caused me to cough, then choke. She patted me on the back until the food came out. I smiled tightly giving her an apologetic glance.
"So," Jennifer said. "You might want to explore the a house a little right?" I nodded.
"Thanks Jennifer!" I said really meaning it.
"Ok, so I have to go on a photo shoot today, you can explore the house, my cellphone number in stuck to the kitchen door of you need it. Oh, and James will be here." She must of noticed the confused look I gave her and she said, "my bodyguard." I formed my lips into the shape of and o. "If there's anything you need, just holler!" She continued. "Also, looking at the size of your suitcase, we need to go shopping!" I laughed.
"Ya, probably! Jen one more thing, are you adopting me, taking care of me, or just waiting until he's ready to take care of me?" I asked. She furrowed her brows,
"I don't know, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it." She answered. Then she left.
I stood up and walked out another door I had just noticed. It led into a master bedroom, which is supposed would be Jennifer's. I was about to leave when something caught my eye. It was a picture. A picture of Josh Hutcherson and Jen. They looked so happy I began to tear up. They were laughing together, sitting on a picnic blanket. It looked so peaceful. I tore my gaze away from the picture and walked out of the room.
Jen had told me to choose a bedroom, I'd never thought I'd end up with this one though. The walls were white and the bed sheets were dark blue, light blue, and lime green. There were autographs on the walls from other famous people, they were framed in black. I smiled, it was a nice sized room with a walk in closet, and my very own bathroom. I had a full length mirror on one wall and when I saw my appearance, I gagged. I had dark circles under my eyes, a cut lip, I was dirty, my clothes were ripped, and my hair was a mess. I needed work.
