VERY IMPORTANT AUTHORS NOTE

I guess at some point I must have fallen asleep, because when we woke up, nobody was in the room, except for Jen... I scowled. My head didn't hurt to badly, but the room still spun.

"Why are you hear?" I slurred. She sighed, looked down, and began to clasp and unclasp her fingers. When she finally looked back up at me, her eyes were full of guilt.

"Hope, I'm you're legal guardian now, remember? When you saw your dad and I talking, that was why." My eyes widened in shock and tears began to well up in them.

"I don't want your to be my guardian!!!" I screeched. The tears now cascading down my face. "Your a monster, I don't belong to you! How can you say that when you were hugging the man that abused me for 13 years!" I yelled. Then I looked down at my feet. "You hurt me." Jen stood up slowly and made her way over to me.

"I brought someone who wanted to see you," she said. Scruffy bounded into the room which I finally recognized as my own. Scruffy kept into my arms and barked like crazy. I laughed, and then regretted it because my head ponded. Scruffy sat down in my lap and began to purr, that's right, he was purring.

"Where's Chris?" I asked Jen, still a little mad about the conversation with my dad.

"Well his mom called and said you were at their house, so I picked you up." She replied.

"How long was I out?!?" I said, worried I had missed school.

"Oh, a few hours at most. But you have school tomorrow so I advise you getting more rest." I nodded in agreement and laid my head on the pillow.

"Jen, did you know my dad before this?" I asked quietly, half asleep. I squinted my eyes and saw Jen freeze half way across the room. Her eyes darted around the room nervously. I could just see that panic starting up in her eyes. She giggled, a giggle that i knew must be a scared one. My breath started to quicken, what was Jen hiding? Maybe it was the fact that I was hyperventilating, or that my head was pounding, but I passed out. The dream that I had had, was possibly the weirdest one ever. I'm not sure it was a dream, or a memory, but none the less, it was strange.

I was standing in the kitchen of our small house at the age of about seven. My mom was crying and my dad looked angry. "You can't just move the family half way across the country!" My dad yelled, his face reddening. "It's probably a scam! And I don't want to be here when they crush you, and I have to pick up the pieces!!! It's absurd!!!!" My mom was now sobbing. "Listen Jennifer, why do you have to tell me the day you leave, begging me to drop everything, and move to New York with a child!!!" My mom stared at him.

"At least I know you love me enough to let me go." She said, and ran out the door. My dad stood there in shock.

"Jennifer don't you dare leave me!!! I can't believe you live fame more than your own family!!!" He ran outside i time to see the family's only car pulling out of the drive way. My dad came back in and signed, running his hands down his face. "Oh boy," he mutters, and pulled out the beer.
