Tracy's P.O.V
That new girl, made me mad. Scratch that, furious. Firstly, she was sitting with my best friend. Secondly, she was embarrassing me in front of my friends, and thirdly, she was just, well... Plain annoying! I think... She needs to be taught a lesson. And I had one in mind.
The bus screeched to a stop. The big ugly building I called school loomed above us. A towering mass of ugly bricks. I groaned. School might have been good for me, because I was popular, but when I got home.... I had parents arguing 24/7 and it was horrible. They yelled so loud it shook the house, or that's what it felt like anyways. It all started when I was 8. That's when they started arguing. I'm surprised they haven't split yet. When I got home, I would run to my room and do my homework. I would only go downstairs for dinner, and I would sit in silence the whole time, afraid if I spoke up, I would be yelled at too. The only way I could let out my anger was at school. I knew everyone hated me. That just made my life even more awful. But I was sick of staying quite. Our maids looked at me like I was a sick creature, with some contagious... Thing, that if they got to close to me, they would catch it too. At school though, I had power. My house was a different story. I was told what to do. All the time. And when I was stood up by a little girl, it reminded me that I too had flaws. I wish I was perfect. I tried so hard to be perfect. Putting makeup on to cover myself up. Doing everything my parents wanted. Staying up til' midnight studying so I would make my parents happy. Not that they ever noticed. I mean, they were to busy arguing anyway.
I hoisted my backpack onto my shoulders and looked at the ground. I stood up, getting jostled by the people around me who seemed, exited for school. It smelled of sweaty bodies. I scrunched my nose up, and then saw the familiar basketball shoes that belonged to Kelsey. My eyes immediately filled with tears. She was my only friend. Well, I don't know if you called us friends. But she was the closest thing I had to a friend. And seeing her with the new girl upset me. I shook off my feelings and just got on with the day.
My first class was History. Perfect. A nice boring lessen to make you more tired in the morning. Luckily Jake Hanson was sitting next to me, so basically I just twirled my hair and flirted for a while. He ignored me, rolling his eyes when I made a comment. I sighed. This day was horrible. Jake began to stare off in to nowhere. I followed his grey eyes. They rested on her. Hope or Joy, or something, whatever her name was. Her light brown hair cascaded down to her back, it reached a couple inches past her shoulders. She had innocent chocolate brown eyes and some freckles that were speckled across her face. She was laughing at something Kelsey said. Her laugh was perfect. It was light an airy, contagious. Jake shook his strait blonde hair out of his eyes. He turned to look at me and I immediately busied myself. I hoped he didn't notice😳. A note fluttered onto my desk. I ignored it, probably from some desperate girl trying to get me to notice her. You may think, doesn't this kinda stuff happen in the movies? Yes, yes it does, but this, this is real life. Get with it. The bell rung and I scrambled to my feet, stuffing my papers in my bag. I rushed to my locker, when I reached it, I twisted the dial and pulled. My. Locker. Didn't. Open. I groaned in frustration. Gosh, and everyone thought I had a perfect life. I tried again. And again. And again. But my locker was mad at me, and didn't open. Grr. Time to start my revenge on pretty girl. Aka, Hope of Joy whatever her name is. I scanned the crowd for her. She appeared to be nowhere. I slammed my head on the wall, getting some odd looks from the people around me. I was getting desperate. I pulled out my cell phone and called Kelsey.
"Hello?" A muffled voice said.
"Hey Kelsey, listen my locker won't open and so I can't get my schedule. I know we have the next class together so," no reply.
"Kels?" I asked. I heard a few inaudible words, then silence. I banged my phone into the nearest locker. What was my next class? Urghhh! Then I saw her. Hope. I think. I ran towards her.
"Hey!!!!! Hope!" I yelled. She turned to face me.
"Yes?" She snapped. I raised my hands in defeat.
"Sorry, I just wanted to know what your next class was." I said quietly. Her gaze (if possible) became colder.
"Why? So you can torture me again?" She spit. Woah there girl!! I pulled my hands down my face. I was gonna rip all my hair out if I wasn't careful. Her stare was so strong I stumbled back, my eyes wide.
"Nnnno." I stuttered. Gee, I was a good actress! Anger was boiling inside. "I I, just know we have the same classes because the principle asked me to escort you around." Yeah right!
"Then you should know if you have it too!" She shot back. God she was making this hard.
"Listen Hope, sorry I was rude earlier, I was having a bad stat ok? I lost my schedule and I was wondering if you could help me find where to go." As if.
"Then you have a bad start everyday." She muttered as she turned and began to weave her way through the crowd, leaving me dumbfounded. Great. This was just great.
