We'd almost made it to the end of the movie when Jerry burst through the doors, "Guys!"

I held my hand up toward him, "SHH. BEST PART."

Jerry glared at me but sat down by Zoe not about to argue.

"'We are from planet duplo and we are here to destroy you!' 'Oh man."

With that the movie ended so I turned to him, "Alright, now."

He grunted in annoyance before standing up flamboyantly spinning around to face, "So, every year at the beginning or end, in that time zone, we have like an over view meeting thingy."

"Thingy, very professional."

He ignored my interruption, "For the past three years, and before according to Haley, it's just a really boring meeting where we recap everything that's happened and blah blah blah. This year, the speaker was some random guy they brought in. So you know, we were in the back adding comic relief. You know, interrupting him, misinterpreting the stuff he said to make it bad, stuff like that."

"Veeery proefessional," I added in.

He paused to give me a look but otherwise continued, "We eventually stopped because Hazel wanted to stab us for making her look back."

"Understood."

"I mean, everyone knows she can't do anything about it, so I don't know why she gets so flustered. But anyway, it was the most boring thing, until."

"We're truly on the edge of our seats."

This time he completely stopped to glare at me, "Maybe I won't tell you the super important new then. Since you so obviously don't want to hear it."

Dustin cleared his throat, "Kristy deeply regrets interrupting you, please continue."

I snorted but leaned back folding my arms without saying anything else.

"Rude, but fine, since you asked so nicely. It turns out, the speaker dude is actually from the military base and...he's come to take over your dad's position."

"What?" I nearly choked.

"Which meaaans huge problems for us," he finished.

I bolted upright off the couch, "Wait! Hold on, WHAT!"

"Not, joking," he struggled to speak as I began shaking his shoulders.

"I mean sure they can do that, BUT WHY?"

Jerry pried my hands off of him, "If you stop shaking me I can tell you what I know, but you might want to sit down."

Dustin pulled me back onto the couch as Jerry started up again.

"One of the main problems is Chip. Your dad supported them, the new guy probably won't. He can't downright kick them out, but he can easily cut their funding. Once Chip slips up though, he'll kick them to the curb."

LI give her a week." My mumble was ignored by all of them.

"That includes Phoebe, Dustin, and he could lump Zoe in there too."

"WHAT?" I leapt up again as Zoe squeaked in horror.

Jerry calmly explained, "Since Chip is her guardian, Zoe could get kicked out with them."

"I got that Jerry, I just, oii," my mind was on the verge of going into 'lay a finger on them, you lose it' mode.

"Also," he kept talking only bringing more bad news, "that puts your dad lower on the chain of command, meaning he could get fired, then bye bye Kristy too. No Kristy and no Zoe means no Jerry."
