the underworld

Hades kept watch on Poseidon from his watching glass. Hades finally had Persephone's love; he was not prepared to go against Zeus and lose everything. But the heartbreaking look that Poseidon possessed was making Hades reconsider his actions.

Hades, being afraid of Zeus, decided it was best for Eros - the god of love - to repair Poseidon's heart.

Eros appeared to an anxious Hades for he was summoned immediately. Hades only wanted Poseidon to be happy and he knew exactly how to do it.

"You look disturbed Uncle, how do you fair?" Eros had no time for games.

"I need a favour," Hades' hands twisted behind his back, he tried not to show his true feelings. "give these exact instructions to Poseidon"

"Say what you will then" Eros gave his full attention to his uncle.

Hades gave Eros a sullen look, after he sent Eros off he would lose Persephone's love forever. But his brother needed closure.

"Poseidon must release Celene's soul or it will wither for all eternity."

As the sun traveled slowly through the clouds, Poseidon's tears sunk into the flowers of the meadows beneath him. In the distance, Poseidon watched as Apollo began to dawn his golden chariot. Poseidon was trying to focus his mind on anything other than his lost love - nothing could console his broken heart.

As he was beginning to take his leave, Eros appeared to him. "I do not wish for company"

Eros had very little patience to exist around heartbroken lovers, it caused him physical pain.

"I come bearing a message from Hades," Poseidon stood completely still "he has told me that you must release the soul you are carrying or it will wither"

This was information he already knew, Poseidon did not want to hear anymore of Hades' message, so he continued on his way.

Again Eros's patience was wearing thin, "He says you must release her before the moon rises of her soul will be forever lost in Tartarus, with this information Poseidon froze.

All of the gods and goddess knew of this place. Tartarus is a dark abyss, a dungeon of torment, a void of nothingness, a eternal place of suffering for wicked and lost souls. Once a soul descended into Tartarus - it was against the very laws of nature to reanimate.

The heavens dawned an iridescent glow of colors - Poseidon had only little time left.

Zeus awoke from his drugged state with confusion written over his face. Hera was not by his side when he awoke and his was instinct was to find her. Hera sat in front of her vanity anxiously - her looking glass showed Poseidon's brief interaction with Eros; needless to say she was worried of Zeus' retaliation.

First and foremost, Eros's loyalty belonged to his grandfather - Poseidon.

Zeus came staggering into Hera's salon unannounced.
