Aphrodite was enjoying her mid morning lounging; resting comfortably against a massive boulder that surrounded the oasis she'd become so accustomed too. Her forest nymphs, adorned her body with luxurious oils and fed her only the freshest of fruits.

"Are you satisfied, my goddess"

Aphrodite was asked this question quite a lot, the nymphs were obsessed with pleasing her, day in and day out. The goddess thought about what her life had become since she was married to Hephaestus. He was quite humdrum; all he seemed to care about was his iron and hammer.

"Oh," she stretched her 'overworked' limbs "I have become too accustomed to this life, nothing interests me any longer"

The nymphs looked worried, and they knew her mood would only worsen with the news they had to share. Hephaestus requested an impromptu audience with his young lover - this was out of the ordinary. The despondent couple agreed that once a month they would meet for an afternoon engagement involving; a sunset feast, honey ale, mindless conversation and a consensual midnight tryst.

"My goddess, you might not be too pleased with this-"

"Wife!" Hephaestus came plundering through the oasis "we must converse immediately"

Aphrodite gossiped to her nymphs, "Perfect, the brute is back"

Hephaestus seemed to be used to her brat-like outbursts and he move forward without commentary. As he came into view, Aphrodite winced the his soot covered face and damaged; he never made himself presentable.

"I did not come for our engagement, I have a gift that needs delivering"

"You have come to the wrong detity" Aphrodite gazed into her mirror to distract herself from his laughable demands.

"I need you to deliver this sword to Ares, work your charm and in exchange for the sword he owes me a favor"

Aphrodite was completely uninterested at this moment, Ares was just as bothersome as Hephaestus; just with more sex appeal. The goddess of love had a list of questions, but she instead used this as leverage.

"I will do this for you," she rose from her position and met his line of vision. "as long as you annul our involuntary commitment."

"By the mercy of Zeus, we are committed for all eternity until the sun collapses from the heavens!" Hephaestus answered exasperated once every thousand years she will ask this of him and each time he declines.

"You thickless oaf, I curse you die without ever feeling true love"

With that Aphrodite wrenched the sword away from his battered hands and went on her way to Mount Olympus; anything to get to away from him.
