1 year later~
"Hahahahaha! You're an idiot!"
It was a bright Sunday morning at Karasuno High, a high school located in the Miyagi prefecture. Most would know this school for the legacy it once had in its Volleyball career. After the graduation of The Little Giant - an ace in his prime during his Volleyball highschool career - and the retirement of coach Ukai, the former coach of Karasuno's Boys' Volleyball team, the school's name in the Volleyball world went downhill from there. They weren't doing so poorly to be down in the bottom ranks, but not high enough to be well known. Only those who remember the former glory they once held know who they are; and even then, most of them see them as nothing but the "flightless crows", a shadow of what they once were.
Despite this, the Boys' Volleyball team continues to play their game, not dwelling on the legacy they are shadowed by constantly. A particular group of Volleyball members were standing in front of the vending machines located outside near gym 3, enjoying one another's presence before going off to practice. 2 out of 3 were laughing at their ashen haired friend who was currently trying to dry off the milk soaking his uniform.
"Remind me to never take one of Tanaka's dares again." Suga says, taking off his blazer as he looks for a towel in his bag. Apparently, he tried squeezing two milk cartons together to see if they would burst under the pressure under Tanaka's direction. When squeezing both, he didn't expect them to actually burst until they did, splashing milk all over his head and uniform.
Daichi stifles his laughter, trying to regain his composure as he smiles towards his friend. "I told you not to do it." he reprimands teasingly.
"Yeah, yeah. You would have done it too had Tanka dared you." Suga defends while toweling his shirt. This seems to make the two teens laugh again, finding Suga's struggles funny. He inhales sharply, "This is gonna leave a stain."
"You can soak it in the sink in the club room." Daichi suggests while picking up Suga's Blazer and bag, handing them to him. Once he takes them with a short, "Thanks.", they begin to walk off in the direction of the gym. "Come on, we got practice. Tanaka, get your ass off the ground."
Tanaka was laughing on the ground, rolling in joy at the face of his friend. He quickly gets off the ground, swaying slightly from the weakness he got from his laughter.
"Alright, alright." he laughs, trying hard to regain his composure. "But ya gotta admit. That was hilarious."
"Yes, yes, it's absolutely funny to see me drown in a bunch of milk." Suga agrees off handedly. It wasn't out of malice, more of weariness at the thought of having to get the stains out.
This causes another round of giggles behind them as they head towards the gym.
"Anyways, do you think any of the first years are there?" Tanaka asks, breaking the small silence that was beginning to fill the space between them.
"Usually they aren't, but we never know." Suga answers, looking at the application forms in Daichi's hands.
"Even so, we don't have that many applications." Daichi says, sighing at the 4 forms Kiyoko, the team's manager, game them. Looks like there team got smaller this year. "We'll make do with who we get. We should prepare the gym for practice."
They enter the gym, completely prepared to do exactly as Daichi had said, but are shocked to see two faces they don't recognize. Wait a second; they do know who they are! It's The Royal Duo from that Junior High Volleyball game they saw last year.
They watch as Kageyama, the setter from last year, throws the ball towards Hinata, the short, orange haired spiker that was formally on Kitagawa's team. He receives it directly to Kageyama who gets ready to set it. Time seems to slow down as the ginger runs forward, preparing to jump with the dark haired setter aligning his fingers, anticipating the balls decent. The shorter male jumps high into the air, arm ready to receive the ball and hit it down. The ball would have been set to him had it not been for a loud voice.
