Tsukishima sighs, tired of the questions his mom was asking. People caring about him can be really annoying. Even so, he put up with it before excusing himself and Yamaguchi to his bedroom. Yamaguchi was staying the night at Tsukki's house. They planned this ahead of time so they could help one another out with getting around their new high school on the first day of school; at least, that's what his mom thought. Tsukki didn't really mind Yamaguchi sleeping over or just meeting him at school. To be honest, it really was just more work for him. The only reason he's doing this is to make sure Yamaguchi's fine. He would never admit it out loud but he knew he was overprotective when it came to Yamaguchi. That's just how he's been since that fucking day. He really hated what happened, but he knows that it wasn't his or Yamaguchi's fault. It was those bastards. Besides, Tsukishima knows when to stop himself from going too far. It's not as though Yamaguchi couldn't take care of himself; much.
Yamaguchi knew this. Tsukki never told him, but he figured it out himself. He found it pretty surprising when Tsukki suggested they sleep over at his house, since he hates sleepovers. He never would have asked Yamaguchi, even if his mom told him too. That's why he knew there was something more to it than just 'having a buddy on the first day'. Tsukishima doesn't care about that kind of stuff. It's just how he is. However, if it had something to do with Yamaguchi's safety, then Tsukki would actually give a crap. Though Yamaguchi figured it out, he didn't say anything, knowing that his friend would just deny it. Plus, he appreciated the thought.
"Your mom seems happy, doesn't she?" Yamaguchi mentions, teasing his best friend in an attempt at small talk. It's works.
"Yeah. She got a call from my Dad saying that he'll be back in a week from his business trip." Tsukki says, ignoring the teasing tone in his green haired friend's voice.
"That's good." Yamaguchi says as they reach Tsukishima's room. The owner opens the door, letting Yamaguchi enter first. They drop their bags to the floor as they enter.
"The bed's yours. My Mom already set up the futon." Tsukishima says while going over to his closet, grabbing a towel and throwing it in Yamaguchi's direction. He catches it slightly startled. "The shower's free. You know where to look."
Yamaguchi sweatdrops at his friend's bluntness, but smiles his thanks. He makes his way to the bathroom while Tsukki rummages through his room.
A shower and dinner later~
"What do you think about them?" Yamaguchi asks, catching the ball the two teens were throwing at one another. After dinner, Tsukishima and Yamaguchi went back to the former's room to get ready for bed. They weren't particularly tired, so they decided to toss Tsukki's volley ball around. Not much had happened and not many words were spoken. It's not like they were fighting or anything, it's just how their friendship was. They didn't have to talk all the time. Usually, they would just hang out with one another, the blonde listening to music while the freckled one read a book or something.
"What do I think about whom?" Tsukki asked, even though he knew who he meant. He was wondering when Yamaguchi would ask him.
"About, uhh..." Yamaguchi trails off, unsure of whether or not he wanted to talk about this, "Kageyama and Hinata."
Tsukishima looks at him for a while, thinking over what would be the best thing to say. After a while, he turns back to his desk, looking bored. "They're like the rumors say: Arrogant, Passive-Aggressive, Emphatic, especially his majesty. He cuddles shorty too much and becomes suspicious of anyone when they first meet. The shrimp's unresponsive as well, only talking when necessary or when someone talks trash about his king. They're annoying." Tsukki answers, pushing his glasses up.
