Chapter 10: It's Nice to Meet You

Hello, it's me again.

I'm sorry I missed last Friday. I said I was going to start the schedule there, but I didn't. This sounds stupid now that I'm writing it, but I got caught up in this old childhood video game my friends just discovered. I used the Friday I was supposed to upload to play, along with the rest of the week. I'm sorry, but when I couldn't remember my old account and had to start over, I wanted to at least get back to my original level - which I did.

From here on, the schedule should be Friday, biweekly - I hope.

Also, this chapter might sound different because it's written through an 8 year old's perspective. People to him are kids his age while taller people are the adults and teachers at his school. This isn't to say that he's dumb, but to help explain his view on life. How he views the world is important to his and Hinata's "mysterious past".

Not only that, but I wrote this chapter just a while ago, this year. The following chapters after this - aside from Chapter 15 - will sound the same as the previous ones because I wrote them 2 years ago, they were just never edited. After those ones get uploaded, the writing style will probably be slightly different since I've had 2 years to practice my English - kind of.

"Why are you so grumpy?"

'Cause they're annoying.

"You won't make any friends if you don't try to get along with them."

What if he didn't want any friends?

"Look, it's him."

"Shh! He might hear you!"

He already has. He always has.

"Yeah, so what?"

"So what? What if he gets angry and hurts us!?"

"Pfft – As if. He'll just get in trouble since the teachers see him as nothing else but a freak."

They don't want to be his friend, anyways, so why bother? That's okay, he didn't need any friends.

"Are you hungry? I made you're favourite. What do you mean? You like it right? Than that's enough reason to make it."

He had his Mom.

"My eyes must be getting worse, I could have sworn you were shorter last time I saw you!"

And his Dad.

"Be careful, it's still hot."

"Look at you, being a good boy and drinking your milk!"

"See? You can do it. Want to try again?"

"Don't listen to them. They're just jealous. Why? 'Cause you have something they can't have: passion."

They cared about him. They treated him nicely. Not once did he feel like he had to act "normal" as those annoying people and even more annoying taller people told him to. They never expected anything, only that he be himself. He liked that. As long as he had them, that was all he needed.

The people his age, the ones he's "supposed" to get along with, don't like him. It doesn't take a genius to figure that out. He's not really sure why, but he didn't care. They're all annoying, either crying every time he looks at them or telling him to get lost.
