Hello :)
Just ahead's up, the writing style might look different after this chapter and stay different after chapter 18/19.
I had these chapters written before I went on hiatus, but I never finished editing them. This is the last chapter that got fully edits but was never uploaded. The next few chapter, aside from chapter 10 - because it's an idea I just came up with yesterday - are copies I never finished editing. After those get uploaded, the writing style might seem different.
Enjoy.

Chapter 9: The Match - Final
Kiyoko blew her whistle, signalling the end of the second set. Everyone who was currently off the court clapped as the players got off the court, gratefully accepting and chugging the water their manager offered. As Daichi and Suga took in some much needed air after their long swig, they noticed that Kageyama and Hinata hadn't accepted the water bottles from their manager. She looked confused seeing them walk towards their bags, but she didn't seem to dwell on it. Suga shared a worried glance with Daichi at seeing this, but was quickly morphed into one of astonishment as he watches the duo pull out their own water bottles from their bags. It's honestly a trivial thing, but Daichi thought that it was a little insensitive. He didn't mention it however, opting to let them be. Besides, Kiyoko didn't seem fazed by it. Tanaka, on the other hand, was.
"Why didn't you take the water Kiyoko offered?" he asked, bringing everyone's attention to them. Hinata looked down when he noticed their gazes while Kageyama's eyes hardened.
"We prefer our own. That's all."
He faced away from Tanaka, showing he didn't want to talk any further. Tanka looked offended, but was quickly stopped by Narita who muttered for him to shut up.
They would be moving onto their third set after their small break. The first years won the first set at a score of 25-22, but lost the second one to the Volleyball team at a total of 23-25. Throughout the entire game, the Volleyball club couldn't help but notice how, quiet, the first years were. It's not as though they weren't talking in total - if that argument had anything to show for. The issue was that they weren't communicating. Kageyama would set the ball to whoever was at the net; most of the time it was Hinata. Granted, they did have some coordination since they'd usually have 2 players running up to trick Daichi and the others, but it looked stiff and rigid. Volleyball is like a kitchen. Costumers would often hear constant yelling from the back since the chefs are supposed to be talking to one another in order to get the food prepared. Volleyball players are meant to do the same by yelling at one another to make sure everyone knows where they are. Unlike Karasuno's team who we're constantly making calls and yelling at each other, the first years barely talked during the rally. It was mostly Tsukishima and Yamaguchi talking.
Daichi sighs, making Suga look at him with worry. He knew this was becoming stressful for his friend. The ban he gave the first years was supposed to help them, but it looks like Kageyama and Hinata have gone back to the way they played in Junior High. The fact Tsukishima and Yamaguchi weren't complaining about it made him worry. Were they going along with kageyama and Hinata's antics because they didn't want to argue? Or did something happen during those 4 days of ban? Deciding to help him out, Suga walks over to the center of Daichi's current worries.
"Hey, there." he says in a gentle voice, hoping to not scare them. Sadly, it doesn't work since Hinata flinches at the new voice and quickly looks down. Kageyama glares at Sugawara as he shifts his body to cover Hinata's. Suga sighs before continuing. "Look, I don't want to fight or cause a scene. I just want to talk."
He waits for resistant. The duo just sit there with Kageyama staring at him, trying to figure out if the senior had any ulterior motives while Hinata continues to look down. After a while, Kageyama's face softens a bit, from a glare to just his natural face. However, his natural face was still intimidating since his eyes were narrowed into somewhat of a scowl. He nods his head, telling Suga to continue.
