We slowly walked down the stairs and I followed her outside. She smiled at me as we saw Luke from a distance, talking to my mum and dad. My heart started beating rapidly and my knees felt like jelly. I really didn't feel like talking to him after what happened earlier. It was so embarassing! 'Luke!' She yelled, waving her hand about in the air. Luke glanced at Hannah and smiled as he placed his glass of orange juice down on the garden table. He started walking towards us, as I heard his footsteps coming closer and closer my heart beated faster and faster. As he approached us, I hid behind Hannah trying not to be seen by Luke. 'Hey, Alice.' Luke smiled as he moved his head to the left so he could see me. I went bright red as Hannah stepped to the right so Luke could see me. 'Erm.. H.. H.. Hi.' I stuttered. 'How are you?' He grinned, 'I haven't seen you in ages, you've grown up so much.' I smiled back at him then looked back at the ground. I can't look at him straight in the eye. 'I.. I'm.. good. Thank you. How are you?' I whispered. 'I'm good thanks.' He said. 'Hey! I got to go. Aunt Louise is here, I'll be back in a minute.' Hannah said as she walked off in the crowd. 'You enjoying the party?' He smiled. I slowly nodded my head then smiled. 'I want you to meet someone! Come with me.' He smiled. He grabbed my hand and he started pulling me to one of the benches in the garden. I can't believe he touched my hand! My heart beated rapidly again and I could feel butterflies tumbling in my stomach now. As we approached the bench, I noticed a long, brunette-haired girl sat down on it. 'Erika!' He yelled. The girl turned around. She was so pretty. She was pretty tanned and was quite tall for her age. She was definitely the type of girl that all boys would go for over me. She slowly stood up revealing her perfect figure. 'Hey, Babe.' She smiled as she kissed him on the cheek. 'Alice, I'd like you to meet, Erika.' He placed his arm over her hip and kissed her on the forehead. 'My girlfriend.' My heart sank in shock. I can't believe it! He has replaced me over this Erika girl! I felt tears filling up my eyes but I managed to keep it in as I closed my eyes for a few seconds. 'It.. It's nice to meet you.' I stuttered, 'I have to go! Something came up.' I ran off but I couldn't help it anymore. Tears ran down my face. I covered my mouth as I frowned in shock. 'ALICE! WAIT!!!' Luke yelled. I ignored him and continued running. People stared at me as I ran through the crowd. As I got to the front door of their house, I stopped running and flopped on the floor. I covered my face and tried to wipe the tears that continued to pour from my eyes. I can't believe he's done this to me, I feel so worthless that he's replaced me. 'Alice?' A voice whispered behind me. I could tell it was Luke. 'GO AWAY!' I sobbed. 'What's the matter?' He asked as he walked closer and closer to me. I ignored him and sniffed as tears dropped to my cheek. He sat down next to me and placed his arm over my shoulder. 'Please tell me.' He sighed. I shrugged and quickly stood up. 'You don't know what's wrong?!' I yelled. He shook his head. 'So you mean it meant nothing to you? That promise was nothing?!' I snapped. I quickly wiped the tears that ran down my face. I showed him the ring on my hand and said, 'I never forgot about you. Well maybe I've been in love with the wrong guy for the past years.' I sobbed. I grabbed the plastic ring that fitted perfectly on my pinky and chucked it at him. 'I hope you're happy!' I yelled as I walked off...
