I slowly walked down the stairs and walked to the living room. The room was empty but the TV was turned on. I sighed as turned it off using the remote control. I slowly placed the remote back down on the table and walked to the dining room. The room was empty too. There was no food laid out on the table and there was nobody there. 'What the flip?' I thought. I smelt a breeze of barbecue that came in from the window. I raised my eyebrow as I tried to look through the window from where I was stood. I saw the back of Reece's head and slowly tip-toed to the door. I opened the door and noticed my parents having a barbecue. 'Hey.' Reece smiled as he walked up to me and passed me a plate of barbecue chicken. 'Thanks.' I smiled. We both sat down on one of the benches next to my mum's plants and nibbled on our barbecue. 'You've got some barbecue sauce on your mouth.' Reece laughed. 'Really?' I grinned. 'Yeah.' He rubbed the barbecue off my mouth and smiled. 'Thanks Reece.' I grinned. 'You're welcome.' He carried on eating his barbecue. 'No!' I sighed, 'I mean.. Thanks for always being here for me.' I smiled, 'When I was sad about what happened to me and Luke, you were always there for me. You mean a lot to me Reece.' 'It's Ok, Alice. As I've said, I'll do everything for you.' He grinned. As I continued nibbling on my barbecue, I noticed Hannah next to my Mum. She passed her a plate of barbecue and they both walked up to me. My mum smiled, 'I invited Hannah over. Thought you could do with your best friend with you.' I awkwardly looked at Hannah. She was feeling pretty awkward too. My Mum and Reece walked off leaving us two together. I shuffled to the left and said, 'Have a seat.'
