Bella Swank
"Okay, I need your help" I announce, throwing open the door to the room in my house that I'd have never even dreamed of entering before.
But desperate times call for desperate measures.
On the bed, Bella doesn't even look up from the magazine she's reading. She turns a page casually, not acknowledging my existence.
She's up early for a Tuesday morning, especially considering she's finished University for the year now. I'm up early because I spent all night tossing and turning, weighing up the decision to get back with Jake in my head.
The bags under my eyes are unfortunately not designer, and no matter how much I brushed my hair it refused to lie flat. There was only one solution, which is why I'm here.
I look around Bella's room, surprised it's not the minimalists wet dream I always imagined it to be. While the walls and the floor are hospital white, and the copper decor accents are glittered delightfully around the room, it's messier than expected.
There are clothes piled up on a chair, and there are pictures on almost every wall. I smirk at the large poster of Robert Pattinson she has above her bed. So much for the artistic sophisticate she pretends to be; underneath she's still a fourteen-year-old Twihard.
"I know we haven't always been close, but I think the whole dress experience at the ball bonded us, and right now my life is a bit, okay- a lot of a disaster, and I thought you could help, you know, as you always seem to have your life together, certainly slightly more than I do right now" I babble, and Bella finally glances up from her magazine.
"Just because we had a 'moment' at the Ball does not mean we are bonded for life" Bella reminds me, her gaze dropping back down to read.
I'm encouraged by the fact that she's acknowledged our bonding.
"It's about Jake and Nathan" I tempt, and Bella raises an eyebrow. I see her lips purse as she mulls over the situation, but she puts the magazine to one side.
"You have my attention" She allows, and I release a sigh of relief.
Typical Twihard: the promise of a love triangle was enough to lure her in.
There's no one else I can go to about this situation. Grammy was planning to tell Paige about Jamaica today, so she's totally preoccupied and I can't bother her with something as trivial as my love life when something as serious as that is happening.
For obvious reasons, I can't talk to Nathan or Jake about this. And my parents, as wise as they are, might be too biased to give me a proper answer. Plus, my love life is something I do not want to discuss with them.
I need someone completely neutral, someone who doesn't care what happens no matter which way it goes. Someone who has no emotion investment in any of this.
Who else but Bella?
"So, I got back together with Jake yesterday-!" I begin, but I'm immediately got cut off by Bella releasing a loud laugh.
"Why would you do something as stupid as that?" Bella asks me, and I wait for her to say 'no offence' but it doesn't happen.
"What do you mean? Why is that stupid?" I say defensively, but Bella rolls her eyes "We've been together a while and we were only on a break-!"
"It's stupid because you're going to end up cheating on him. You can't honestly tell me you're capable of staying away from Nathan Dean, especially now you..." Bella trails off, her face full of mirth. She makes a rude gesture.
