Make it Right

I gave Demi a few days before I started clawing my way back into her life. It was almost two weeks into November & I really was hoping Demi & I would be fine by Thanksgiving. She was stubborn as hell, though, which was not good for me. Luckily, for me, I had nothing but time on my hands since the Navy St show was on a holiday break. Unlucky for Demi.

The first thing I did to try to make it right with us, was send her several dozen roses with a poem I wrote. I didn't hear from her after I knew she received them. Then I sent her an edible arrangement, but still heard nothing. By this time, I was starting to get worried she'd never forgive me or take me back.

A week before Thanksgiving, I decided to pull out the big guns & use the family card. I went to the studio when I knew she was working. Blanda was my spy, thankfully. I went into the studio without even knocking. It was like home to me, anyway. Demi was sitting on the chair, her feet up as she leaned back, watching the computer screen as her producer made her song sound amazing. I must have made a noise, because both of them turned to look at me.

Her producer, Jason, looked up & smiled, while Demi glared. "Hey Nick." Jason said as he stood to shake my hand. "Did you come to hear some new Demi music. It sounds amazing."

I looked at Demi's face as I answered. "She always sounds amazing."

Jason looked perplexed, then cleared his throat, probably sensing the tension between me & Demi. "I'm gonna go grab a drink. I'll see ya later, Nick."

"See ya." I said, not taking my eyes off of Demi.

"What are you doing here?" Demi asked, sounding annoyed, as she sat up. "I already got the visit from Olivia yesterday. You don't need to come reiterate what she told me."

I was shocked at this. "Olivia was here?"

"Yea. You sent her, right?"

"No. I haven't even talked to her." I sat on a stool next to Demi. "What did she say?"

"She told me what happened the night after I told you about the baby."

"You mean when you lied to me about the baby?" I smirked.

Demi stared at me with narrowed eyes. "Anyway, it doesn't matter if nothing happened with you two, I still don't trust you with my heart anymore."

"Let me make it right. Go on a date with me tomorrow night." I said, leaning forward.

She rolled her eyes. "Hell no. You need to stop. We're over."

I leaned on the counter in front of me & sighed. "Okay, fine. Can you do me one favor please?"

Demi groaned. "What?"

"You still haven't told your family right?" I asked. Demi shook her head in response. "Your mom invited my family over to their place for Thanksgiving, hoping you & I would also come. I don't want to break all their hearts, since I've done enough of that lately, so I thought we could go & just pretend for one day that we're okay & that we're going to be this happy family." I sighed. "You know... before we shatter their lives & tell them we're getting a dissolution & that the baby isn't mine." I lifted one eyebrow, giving her a slight grin.

Demi sighed, deeply, shifting in her chair. "Nick...."

"Demi. Please just give our families one more happy holiday. We can make it right, before we make it wrong."

She rolled her eyes, sighing again. "Fine. But we ride with Joe & B, so I can sit in the backseat with B & not have to talk to you unless I absolutely have to."
